Matric results will be released on the 19th of Jan. Few years ago Matric learners would be preparing for varsity registrations right now.

Moving back results release dates is a huge disadvantage for matrics/first year students. They might end this month and early Feb still trying to register, most of February will be orientation (if ever there will be any).

When they go to class lecturers rushing to cover for that lost time. Others still waiting for res. I'm interested to see how they are planning to do this.

Before, Most first year students would register and still have more weeks to sort out issues of residence and other stuff. Can't delay results with such slow varsity systems
