@ScoutDedalus@SenoreAmore Not 87% but up to 92# actually. China dominates the global refined rare earth market, controlling approximately 90% to 92% of global processing and separation capacity as of 2024-2025.
@ScoutDedalus@SenoreAmore It's NVIDIA but refined rare earths. China enjoys a monopoly of 87% of global supply. Without RREs, let's see how you are going to even be able to produce any high end chips. Then there's silver, graphite and a whole ton of other metals and materials.
@ScoutDedalus@SenoreAmore For you know with the number of Americans now living paycheck to paycheck; the ever growing size of the US national debt further complicating matters in terms of what is that USD 100 billion in interest payments annually and on inflation; you don's Mao. Really.
@ScoutDedalus@SenoreAmore If you are able to refine rare earths to the requisite standards for the chips needed for your weapon systems even in 30 years time, that would be a miracle.
@ScoutDedalus@SenoreAmore As the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war shows, weapon stocks get depleted in no time. The US's production capacity is nowhere near what it was even in the 1990s. Even if it was, all that is required is for China to impose a 100% BAN on refined rare earths, the US will zero new chip.
