@Sloimay I think the only exception to this was the grocery store vid, in the almost year and a half, that was the only one that felt new and felt "cool", like something I literally wouldn't have expected
The best editors you will ever hire are not looking for a job right now.
Top creative talent is already working. They are not spending their afternoons scrolling through hiring tweets or filling out application forms for roles that will not substantially change where they are going. If you want them, you have to go find them yourself.
The standard "looking for a video editor" post generates 200+ responses in 48 hours. Almost none of them are the profile you had in mind. The people worth hiring see the post and keep scrolling.
What changes the result is reversing the direction. You define what the right person looks like, study their actual work, and reach out directly. In the first conversation, you ask what they want to build in the next year and what success looks like for them personally. You figure out how working with you fits into that. Your expectations and standards stay in place, but the working relationship gets built around who the person actually is.
Someone who already had options and chose to work with you will approach the role with a different level of commitment than someone who was just available.
pick a degree you don’t want to cheat. choose a city you don't want to flee. work a job you don’t want to quit. marry a person you don’t want to change. live a life you don’t want to escape.

@MarioJoos I've had 2 videos do well before, this is the first time I've seen more impressions for suggested than browse, and by a decent margin. Been bout 5 days since I uploaded, is YT just takin it's tryna find the right browse audience for it? Very curious to know your thoughts :)
@MarioJoos Video is 18:34 long btw. I've noticed a pattern amongst other creators and my videos as well, browse impressions seem to have a pretty high CTR, kinda obvious why, but they seem to lead to higher AVDs as well. So it just a fight to get into browse and win kinda situation?
@FayeMata This is related to the post, so sorry in advance, But is there gon be a dub for the s3 Konosuba OVAs? I've been waitin for almost a year now 🥲
Wright Brothers on the Importance of Action:
"Thousands of men had thought about flying machines and a few had even built machines which they called flying machines, but these were guilty of almost everything except flying...
Things which seemed reasonable were often found to be untrue, and things which seemed unreasonable were sometimes true.
Under this condition of affairs students were accustomed to pay little attention to things that they had not personally tested."
Peter Thiel on Working With People You Don't Like:
“Many seem to think it’s a sacrifice necessary for making money.
But taking a merely professional view of the workplace, in which free agents check in and out on a transactional basis, is worse than cold: it’s not even rational.
Since time is your most valuable asset, it’s odd to spend it working with people who don’t envision any long-term future together.
If you can’t count durable relationships among the fruits of your time at work, you haven’t invested your time well—even in purely financial terms.”
