When I was in my first year of medical training, a guy in my class wanted to ask me out but I made it clear I wasn’t interested. He put my face on a nude woman’s body and circulated it with my name, phone number and “rate” on it. I used to get 70-80 calls from guys - either his friends harassing me or random men who had received that image on WhatsApp. I changed my mobile number five times that month. I started therapy. I needed sedatives to be able to relax and sleep. Men who do this deserve death. Because no amount of repentance takes away anything women go through because of their actions. I still can’t take pictures of myself freely, forget about posting them anywhere. There should be no re-entry into society for men like these. Ever.
A journalist friend recently made this point. Back in the UPA years, if you broke a big story, you had the reasonable expectation that it would matter because TV news would pick it up and make sure everyone heard about it. 2G, Commonwealth, Vadra land deals — broken by newspapers, amplified by TV. Today, reporters can spend months uncovering something important and still wonder if it will have any impact at all. Because the amplification layer is gone.
Her name was Neha Shoree.
She was a drug inspector in Punjab.
In 2009, while posted in Ropar, she raided a chemist shop run by a man named Balwinder Singh.
During the inspection, she found dozens of types of tablets commonly misused by drug addicts. According to official records, he could not produce the required documents for them.
She cancelled his licence.
Then she moved on and continued doing her job.
By 2016, Neha Shoree had become the zonal licensing authority at a government drug laboratory in Kharar, near Mohali.
She was thirty six years old.
She had a young daughter at home. Her father was a retired Army captain who had fought in the 1971 war.
The man whose licence she had cancelled never forgot what had happened.
On the morning of March 29, 2019, Balwinder Singh walked into her office in Kharar carrying a licensed revolver.
He shot her inside her workplace.
Neha Shoree was rushed towards a hospital but died on the way.
The gunman then turned the weapon on himself and died soon afterwards.
According to the police, she had been due to testify against him in court.
Ten years had passed since the raid.
Ten years after she enforced the law, he came back for revenge.
Her father later said that his daughter had lived under pressure for years because of her work, but she never compromised and never backed down.
She was killed for doing exactly what the job had asked her to do.

The AIIMS Delhi exodus: Why top faculty & HODs are leaving India’s most prestigious medical institution.
Cardiac surgeries were cancelled five to six days every month, and patients, including small children, were moved to waiting lists extending up to 15 months, said Dr Hote, who joined AIIMS as a student in 1999.
“About five percent of patients on the waiting list died before their surgery date… including small children. It was not just frustrating. It was causing me guilt,” Dr Hote told ThePrint.

ABHIJEET EXPOSES THE GOONDA MODEL OF SILENCING STUDENTS 🔥
BJP goons entered a peaceful protest, attacked people, and even broke the head of a father who had come with his daughter to support students.
The protest was talking about students who died by suicide. The response was not accountability. The response was intimidation.
Delhi Police a simple question: if the attackers are identified, if their photos and videos are already shared, why are they still not arrested?
People who bring water for protesters are getting police visits at their homes. But those who beat people up and post Instagram reels saying they will beat more people are roaming free.
This is how fear is manufactured.
I need to hear both sides of the story first.
What was a cancer patient doing out and about and not in bed taking care of his health?
What time was it?
Did he do anything to provoke in he cops?
What was he wearing?
These questions must be answered before we form any opinion.

I don’t know how and who will save our people from our own people. This mindset is scary amongst educated folks.

Every day there is a fire in a big Indian city and people are burnt to death in the middle of attending class, eating in a restaurant or resting in their rooms. This is caused by the same mindset that makes us a stupid and a dangerous nation on the road. There is simply no sense, no requirement or threat to follow civic and safety rules, and no infrastructure or upright dignified municipal officers who command respect. The only definition of a moron is a person whose action is a danger to himself. In that context there is no animal that is as stupid as the modern Indian.
Is this how we treat our Padma Shri awardees?
- This is Padma Shri Kinnera artist Darshanam Mogilaiah.
- He was given a 600-square-yard residential plot as an honour for his contribution.
- But for the last 2 years, he has been running from government offices to courts just to get it.
- He has even borrowed nearly ₹9 lakh to pay legal expenses and lawyer fees.
People like Darshanam are the pride of our country. If the government cannot even give him what was promised in a proper way, it is a shame.
You know what is Modi’s biggest strength. That his ministers will indulge in large scale corruption, that children will be gutted in a fire in hospitals and coaching centres. Yet no one will resign. No accountability.

This is just absolutely unforgivable. What have educational institutions come to?? This is a generational scarring, setting up all of the country’s kids with nothing to look forward to. We’re losing at humanity in this country, living in the most violent period in its history!
