Ending violence against women is everyone’s business.

Bright Future Organisation team participated in the 16 days of activism campaign with the American international Education Federation (AMIF) and Global Women Development Network (GWDN). The event included an awareness session and discussion on GBV, entertainment activities, and certificate/gift distribution for the participants.

Today is #Day10 of the ongoing #16daysofactivism set aside to end violence against women & girls.

Only 10% of all sexual abuse females experience is reported. Less than 1% of reported cases is actually prosecuted. We all have a role to play in ending sexual gender based violence.

On #day9 of the #16daysofactivism, we reiterate how harmful female genital mutilation is to women and girls.

🔴 More than 200million girls and women still alive today have undergone FGM, while another 3 million girls stand the risk of undergoing FGM every year.

Female genital mutilation (FGM), is a harmful practice that violates the human rights of women and girls and has no health benefits, it can lead to various short-term and long-term health consequences, including severe pain, infections, difficulties during childbirth, sexual dysfunction, psychological trauma, and in some cases, even death.
