पहले, अच्छी खबर यह है कि असम (सिलचर नगर निगम) में EVM की बजाय बैलेट पेपर से चुनाव हुए।

दूसरी, बुरी खबर यह है कि कांग्रेस बैलेट पेपर के चुनाव में भी हार गई और निर्दलीयों से भी पीछे तीसरे नंबर पर रही।

भाजपा-एनडीए को प्रचण्ड बहुमत के साथ 42 में से 34 सीटें, निर्दलीयों को 6 और कांग्रेस को सिर्फ 2 सीटें मिलीं।
