I was born, brought up, and raised in a Tier-1 metro town. Have occasionally visited the countryside in India and abroad.
With each passing day, I am more convinced that Indian cities, including my own city, are not liveable anymore.
Its a race. Everyone is running, I don't know where. And there is money, but no peace.
Indian cities may be engines of growth, but they're not engines of a happy, fulfilled, and quality lives.
Listen to her.. "ek exam hi toh hai". That's the attitude. She will succeed for sure.. in UPSC or otherwise.
Please stop making this exam larger than life.
Family & society should support the aspirants, not pressurise them.

There was a time when I just couldn’t wait to be in Delhi.
I was a UPSC aspirant and I used to think if one’s really serious about prep, one has to be in Delhi.
And then I visited Delhi, stayed there for a while and realised if one’s really serious about prep, one can’t be in Delhi.
Go there to get books or notes or attend an interview, meet a teacher or so.
That’s about it.
Be in a cozy, warm place (like home).
Stay disciplined.
Follow a tight schedule.
Be ambitious.
Don’t just uselessly spend your energies on commuting, finding good food, standing in queues for things that don’t add value to your preparation.
Everyone I met who got a rank, including the future Rank-1, got the rank when they were back, home.
Because your struggle doesn’t have to be to stay alive.
It has to be to get a rank.
Be home.
And study.
To every Indian supporter in the stadium - make sure that our bowlers run up to a roar for every SINGLE BALL.
This team has given us 10 flawless games. Let’s give them an unforgettable one. Pull these boys over the line.
I hope UPSC learns that tough is different from absurd. An Indian Civil servant can be tested better, than having to mug up Switzerland's position in gold etc.
To my students, I will suggest, start for mains, prepare hard, any support needed please feel free to connect. Blessings
