@wardjd10@zweiwalker89607@starwars The first arc of the comic is required reading before starting the book imo. Then the book is required reading before continuing on with the comic (which unfortunately ended its run prematurely)
I feel like I'd be pretty bad at doing smalltalk about Star Wars with the average "normal" Star Wars fan irl now. They'd ask my favorite villain and instead of Vader, Thrawn or some auraful MMO Sith I'd be like "Maybe Daiman from Knight Errant" as if they know what that even is.
@zweiwalker89607 That’s my main frustration as I’m going through it the first time now, despite generally enjoying the books. Like, clearly The Path are wrong and misguided but it feels like every rebuttal any Jedi character can think to give them is “nuh-uh”
@SheevTalks I’ve always wished Tales was a series of novels as opposed to comics. I like the broad strokes of the series but having to fit each arc into 100ish pages condenses time to the point it’s unbelievable. Entire wars are boiled down to one battle and character turns happen in seconds
@AvatarKyber I can kinda square it away in my mind with the idea that The New Sith Wars threw the galaxy into a millennia long dark age where the republic pulled back from most of the outer rim and technology regressed/stagnated, reframing THR as a renaissance where the republic re-expands
It's a cold take, but the Timeless Child is stupid and bad but not because it's "disrespectful" or whatever. It's because it's unapproachable, lore-brained, and has no satisfying pay-off because Chibnall hates writing endings to his arcs.
What if World Enough and Time was a Seventh Doctor BF story?
An attempt to Rehabilitate the Master goes terribly wrong when Ace is shot and taken. now the Doctor, the Master and Hex must save her before it’s too late as An Old Foe is bringing about a deadly genesis
