Praying for the people of France. I'm hearing that 100,000 peaceful protesters have now been killed by the French police. Surely it's time for us to liberate them by blowing up their bridges and power plants and maybe a girls' school?
Hands down one of the greatest dark memes I’ve seen in my entire career.
I know folks on the commodity desk already knows how this math works, but just for the broader timeline and the math-challenged folks out there...
The Taylor Rule is traditionally used to calculate a central bank’s optimal policy rate: i = r* + p* + 1.5(p - p*) + 0.5(y - y*)
(i = nominal rate, r* = neutral rate, p* = 2% target, p - p* = inflation gap, y - y* = output gap).
Dr. Ghalibaf basically jammed two brand new variables into this classic framework, the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab-el-Mandeb.
He's flexing that global CPI and terminal rates are dictated by their maritime choke points...
Honestly crown the man Meme King already. And the wild part? He’s not even lying. Does today's Fed decision even matter in the grand scheme?
Give it a few days, and we’ll all be recalibrating the next FOMC print purely around energy prices—which ironically are being priced by Tehran and the Houthis.
The guy isn't wrong. Welcome to the new macro regime.

Important detail: The tail number is 5529, which means it's an advanced F-15SA (≈ $110 million or more) and a two-seat Fighter Jet, so there are two prisoners/casualties.
BREAKING: First ground-level image of the massive 100 km black smoke column rising from Saudi Arabia's East-West crude pipeline, captured ~6h ago, after Yemen's Houthis struck the pipeline on multiple points, the same plume seen on Sentinel-3 satellite imagery.
The *actual* problem with your various paramilitary secret agencies shooting each other in the streets of Kiev is that they are not speaking a made-up language nobody speaks when they think they aren't being watched.
Gee, i wonder if this has anything to do with the strange current situation that we are told by news about super high CASUALTIES in nepal everyday but only very small barely changing numbers in JILONG.
In case you dont know, there were lots of nepal destruction videos on chinese internet already, but from very beginning the two angle camera footages of jilong port being hit by mudslide were heavily censored till even now.
First three pics are from my history record list. First pic contains the record of the only surveillance footage from the 吉隆口岸, the chinese port. At that time only some individual accounts posted it at around 17pm, 26th, August. And Tibet daily's was pulled down at around 18
these two days, some accounts actually could post some parts of those camera footages without being deleted. but still i dont find any official media posting those surveillance videos that you can see everywhere on X.
second and third pics are what we are used to these days. videos containing those camera footages being pulled down. and there were some very small accounts posting those footages that could attract lots of viewership before being deleted.
Hahaha, all the information verified? You call TIbet daily posted SURVEILLANCE footage on the night of the mudslide unverified and sth that had to be verified two days later and still no full camera footage released till now?
And this exactly like the 大外宣 accounts we see on X. Spreading lies/half fake lies to fool the outside world. We have chinese apps Bilibili and Weibo and we see everything.
On the night of the terrible disaster, every video containing the horrifying camera footages was immediately censored. That night around 18pm I saw only one official account called Tibet Daily post that one footage and within 2 hours, it was pulled down.
It was at about 23pm did i first see the video of that near front shot of chinese port building being hit by the huge mudslide from BNO news on X.........
Even RT, the russian account that usually has more freedom in posting more sensitive contents, posted only half of a camera footage for the news....... The one in which lots of buses were pushed together i think.
And that night lots of chinese were asking why any post containing those camera footages were pulled down quickly, the next day it was still the same. All we could see from our official media are videos of some non-important videos.
