🌸 WHY Series
Why do flowers growing in the same place and soil have different colours?
Even when #flowers grow side by side in the same #soil and under the same conditions, they can display different colours because their genes control the production of natural pigments such as anthocyanins, carotenoids, and chlorophyll.
These pigments determine whether a flower appears red, yellow, blue, purple, or white.
Environmental factors like soil pH, temperature, and sunlight can influence colour intensity, but the primary reason lies in each plant's unique genetic makeup.
Just as people have different eye colours, flowers have different colours because nature has encoded each species with its own palette - helping attract pollinators and ensuring successful reproduction.

Honoring Rachel Carson on her birth anniversary. 🌿
She gave words to nature's silence, exposed chemical dangers, and proved that true progress requires environmental balance. Her legacy remains our guiding light for planet conservation. 🌍✨

Forests are the silent guardians of our planet - absorbing around 2.4 billion tonnes of CO₂ every year, nearly equal to the annual emissions of hundreds of millions of cars.
Protecting and restoring #forests is one of humanity’s strongest natural solutions to fight #climatechange, preserve #biodiversity and secure a #sustainable future for generations to come.
Let us act together to reverse #deforestation and strengthen #Earth’s green #lifelines.
Space is inviting young minds to dream, discover and explore!
The 2nd Summer Science Camp on “Space Science & Technology” has commenced with great enthusiasm across our Regional Science Centres at #Bhavnagar, #Bhuj, #Patan and #Rajkot.
A total of 209 students are participating in an exciting journey of Space and Cosmic Science through immersive learning and hands-on exploration over the next three days.
Delighted to see our RSC teams inspiring the next generation of space explorers, scientists and innovators.
Great discoveries begin with curious minds!
On this day, we remember #VictorGrignard (1871–1935), the brilliant French chemist who revolutionized #OrganicChemistry through the famous Grignard reaction - a discovery that became a cornerstone for modern pharmaceuticals, materials, and scientific innovation.
For this groundbreaking contribution, he was awarded the #NobelPrize in #Chemistry in 1912, inspiring generations of scientists to transform ideas into discoveries that benefit humanity.
Not science fiction - #science in action!
Scientists are exploring how engineered bacteria could purify #water on #Mars, turning #waste into useful #resources.
A small #idea today, a #giantstep for future explorers.
