After a certain age,
your parents slowly become your children.
They ask same questions again.
They repeat stories you've heard a thousand times.
They forget little things.
Their steps become slower.
Their world becomes smaller.
And without realizing it...
The people who once carried you through life begin depending on you.
Very few people recognize this role reversal.
What feels like an inconvenience is often just time reminding us that nothing lasts forever.
Don't rush them.
Don't correct them harshly.
Don't make them feel like a burden.
One day, their voice will be silent.
The questions will stop.
The stories will never be told again.
And you'll wish for just one more interruption...
One more repeated story...
One day, you'll give anything to hear those same stories again.
One more chance to hear them call your name.
Growing old is a privilege not everyone receives.
Care for them the way they once cared for you
It’s repayment.
It's the final way we say...
Thank you for spending your life loving me .
@Houseofyogi Well, when the Bears sell to a developer and let’s say a housing subdivision and some commercial goes in, I would venture to guess it would raise 53M or thereabouts in Arlington Heights. They should give all the street names Bears players or coaches names.
@BernieSanders Being anti data center and AI is flat out stupid. What it says is you don’t want to win essentially what amounts to a tech arms race and you’re happy to let someone else win at the expense of US citizens. The economic benefits of it will then be China’s.
Living in Italy, we often joke about the quality of American food — but being back in the US, you see it’s no joke
Bread & pasta taste like rubber, like you’re eating a yoga mat
Food that should have 5 ingredients has 50
Seed oils & added sugars reign supreme
I’m shocked this isn’t a bipartisan issue, that people on all sides of the political aisle aren’t out in the streets calling for immediate change
What’s even crazier is that — despite the abysmal food standards — America is still a nation with energy and vitality
Imagine how much better it’d be if its citizens didn’t poison themselves with everything they eat?
Despite the negativity though, I think there’s room for hope. The situation is only as bad as it is because WE ALLOW it to be that way
In theory, it could all change overnight — you just sign a couple reforms and raise the standards like that 🫰
To be clear, this isn’t about America becoming more like Europe…
It’s about America becoming more like America, which is only possible if its people are healthy
Otherwise, a country with a poisoned populace will inevitably turn into an unhealthy, ghoulish caricature of itself
To make America great again, you’ve first got to make American food great again
You are what you eat! 🇺🇸
