1527 is the year when #Mandi was established by #AjbarSen after consolidating nearby areas ruled by petty chiefs & occupying Sadhiana, where the town of Mandi stands. Ajbar Sen’s ancestors were a separated branch of family from Suket starting from Bahu Sen in ~1000AD 1/4
#GuruGobindSingh visited #Mandi towards the end of 17C where Raja Sidh Sen gave him honourable reception. While leaving, the Guru uttered the following couplet:
“Mandi ko jab lutenge
Aasmani gole chutenge”
Mandi always remained protected!

#Panchvaktra 17th C at #Mandi. Ash smeared #SadaShiva - Shiva who is benevolent - with Devi #Parvati sitting on his lap. Associated with the famous ruler Raja #SidhSen. This statue influenced many pahari paintings of Sadashiva in the 17th/ 18th C.

Raja #SidhSen of #Mandi (8th thread), 1740 (At V&A Museum). The second painting , 1730 (At SDMA) is of Mian #Jappu, the most able #Wazir of Sidh Sen, who also happened to be his father��s half brother. It was a combination of two men of wisdom.
