Fatherhood. Engineering. Hockey. Packers. Nerdy books/movies that aren’t as nerdy when you realize how popular they are. And God and politics because why not.
After all this is over, we need to pass a law that makes social media posts from official agency accounts like this subject to perjury. It is too destructive to the country to let them keep lying and lying and lying without any possible legal remedy.
The speed and uniformity of the messaging coming out of the Administration should alarm anyone who claims to think for themselves.
The narrative locks in instantly, dissent is framed as deviance, and the range of acceptable conclusions collapses before the evidence even has time to breathe, with a level of certainty and extremity that outpaces almost everything else.
Drop the team jersey for a moment and actually look at what is being said, what is being omitted, and who benefits from the urgency.
Extreme conditions are where clear thinking matters most, and right now the demand is your own judgment.
@gutz1962@BulwarkOnline Maybe if they were tourists, sure.
But these aren’t tourists. Businesses and schools are impacted by their threats and lawlessness, and that has a cost that commandeering hotels and restaurants aren’t making up for.
I will say again, if clips like this were running non stop on cable and network news, posted on the websites of outlets like the NY Times, and discussed ad nauseum like Joe Biden's age, maybe the general public would wake up to what's happening in their names by our government
1) US citizen tries to turn down a street and tells agents “I’m going to a doctor appointment”
2) Half the agents tell her to drive, the other half tell her to get out the car
3) They try ripping open her car doors from all sides
4) She doesn’t drive away because she just saw a woman get shot in the face three times for doing that
5) So she stays there and again explains to officers, “I’m going to a doctor appointment, I’m disabled”
6) They shatter her window, rip her out of the car, and arrest her
Nick Sortor and people like him post this video like it’s a good look for ICE because they love living in a fascist hellscape. They’re tiny little men that loves sucking the cock of authority and celebrating militarized police violating the rights of US citizens.
They will be looked back on in history as the worst kind of people. Even by Republicans, who will inevitably separate themselves from the cult of this administration.
Absolute fucking losers.
The Minneapolis Police Dept is now outnumbered and outgunned 3:1 by an out of state white supremacist gang with military grade weapons.
That's how we need to think and talk about this.
Sheriff Chris Swanson, the elected Sheriff of Genesee County, Michigan, is a career law-enforcement officer, not a pundit. He became nationally known in 2020 for prioritizing de-escalation during protests. What he says about the Minneapolis shooting directly exposes how bad MAGA-era policing policies fail.
Swanson calls the shooting tragic but predictable. Masked federal agents in unmarked vehicles confronted a 37-year-old woman, gave unclear commands, and then fired three shots as her car was backing up and turning away. The agent who fired was not hit, not run over, and not in the vehicle’s path. Two shots were fired as the car was already driving away.
That is not lawful deadly force. That is bad policy producing bad outcomes.
Swanson is blunt about the force continuum. You do not shoot people who are fleeing. You do not shoot when you are not in danger. “Tough on crime” slogans do not override use-of-force standards, no matter how loudly MAGA politicians repeat them.
What follows is worse. After the woman was shot and crashed, Swanson saw no attempt at life-saving aid. No urgency. No trauma response. He contrasts this with his own deputies, who once returned fire on a suspect who had already killed two people, then immediately tried to save his life anyway. That is professional policing. What happened in Minneapolis was not.
He also points to missing body cams and officers leaving the scene instead of securing it for investigation. These are not accidents. They are the results of policies that reward aggression and optics over training and accountability.
Swanson makes one thing clear. Calling this out is not anti-police. Blind loyalty is what damages law enforcement. Accountability is what protects it.
🚨 BREAKING: ICE agents in Minneapolis are seen arresting another teenager without verifying his identity first, and admit to it on camera.
In the video, the teenager calmly tells agents he can go inside and get his ID to prove who he is. The agents refuse. Instead, they say they’ll “take pictures at HQ”… and then force him into their SUV anyway.
That is deeply alarming.
Law enforcement is not allowed to detain people first and figure out who they are later without lawful justification.
Detaining someone without verifying identity, without probable cause, and without allowing them to present ID raises serious Fourth Amendment concerns.
You cannot seize a person just to “check” who they are.
This also mirrors what DHS has now openly admitted: that people are being detained first and sorted out later based on suspicion alone.
That means innocent people, minors, and U.S. citizens are being taken into custody without verification, without charges, and without due process.
If the government can forcibly detain someone simply to identify them, that is not law enforcement… that is unlawful detention.
DHS just admitted they are grabbing whoever they want, throwing them in detention, just to THEN verify their status. That is violating the constitution. That is human trafficking. They are profiting off of detention. https://t.co/OKSq4BNjYf
And if you're someone who celebrates this - who thinks Renee Good should have been shot, who thinks Powell should be prosecuted, who thinks Trump isn't bonkers - ask yourself what unhappiness and resentment led you to become a person your parents and kids will be ashamed of.
The 4th Amendment forbids the government from going door to door hoping to find a crime.
Your home is not a crime scene by default. Your privacy is not optional. Your rights are not suspended because the government is “curious.”
This is not radical.
This is constitutional.
PSA: “Drive baby, drive” is not an instruction to hit someone. It’s an instruction to leave the situation.
OTOH, saying “fucking bitch” about someone you just shot is damning evidence that you did it out of anger—not fear.
Leaving 2 minutes later to obstruct justice is even worse.
Deliberately preventing a physician and an ambulance from reaching a gunshot victim until it was far too late is *in and of itself* potentially accessory to murder for every ICE agent who participated.
If you think shooting this woman in her car—and letting her bleed out in the street—was justified, you are both sadistic and suicidal. No one will be safe from this. No one.
