We, the TIMEP family, are absolutely devastated by the news that the brilliantly talented and deeply empathetic Sudanese advocate Hamid Khalafallah has passed away. It was the greatest honor and privilege to host Hamid as a 2022-2023 nonresident fellow.
Zionist islamophobe Jake Lang held an anti-islam rally outside the EPIC Mosque in Texas, where he placed a Quran in a pig's head and shouted islamophobic slogans.
Would they allow someone to do this with the Talmud outside a synagogue in a Jewish community? Definitely not.
Better late than never @SecRubio. His statements on Sudan here suggest that he is fully aware of RSF's crimes, their deceitfulness, and the need to take a hard line against UAE for supplying the RSF and countries like Chad for enabling RSF/UAE. Says terrorist label might apply.
Ex-Kenyan VP accuses Ruto of gold deals with RSF leader: “The real leader of the Rapid Support Forces is not Hemedti; it’s William Ruto. He is helping them clean their gold money through our country.” Interesting to see this accusation coming from Kenya. https://t.co/Kivao44qhV
The Death of Walid Abdel Hamid Abdeen: Another Civilian Soul Crushed in the Torture Camps of the Rapid Support Militia (Janjaweed)
Yesterday, Eng. Walid Abdel Hamid Abdeen passed away—son of Ambassador Abdel Hamid Abdeen and the late Ambassador Mona Abdel Rahman, who died earlier during this war—after six months of forced detention by the Rapid Support Militia (Janjaweed).
Walid, who had no political or military affiliation, remained in captivity until the very last moments before the militia withdrew from the Jabal Awliya area, leaving behind hundreds of civilian detainees in devastating physical and psychological condition. News of his death has caused a wave of grief among all who knew him or learned of his story.
The video we shared shows Walid after he was found following the liberation of the area—his body frail, his face exhausted, his eyes heavy with the weight of months of torture, hunger, and neglect. To reflect the scale of this tragedy, we included in the video photos of Walid before his abduction—healthy, calm, and dignified. The contrast between the images is not just visual; it is a silent testimony to the systematic physical and psychological abuse he endured.
He was taken to the hospital in a last attempt to save him, but there was nothing left to save—those torture camps had already consumed his soul.
Walid's death is not an isolated case. It is yet another chapter in a long and horrifying series of crimes against innocent civilians, abducted by the Janjaweed and taken to places with no law, no mercy. Those not killed by bullets die slowly in dark cells—starved, tortured, and silenced.

Not sure how to explain the significance of this moment.
The same revolutionary youth who repeatedly faced bullets, teargas & water cannons to take their nonviolent protest to the Republican Palace
are now the ones who successfully pushed out RSF from the Republican Palace.
433, including children, killed in White Nile by the RSF--the deadliest attack since the genocidal massacre of Geneina. That its done simultaneously to declaring a new government is the perfect encapsulation of who the RSF are and how they will "govern" areas under its control.
Nadia Siddiq a teacher from Khartoum North (Bahri) went to plead with RSF militiamen that they release her son.
The militiamen chose to punish her courage of approaching them by hanging her. These are the sort of barbaric horrors this UAE sponsored militia inflicts on civilians
A few reflections on today's announcement from the Biden Administration on #Sudan. First, the question of is it too little too late? The answer is yes and no. Yes, for the Biden Admin. It's too late to fix a failed (non-existent) Sudan policy and its too late to get on the right side of history. The fact is that this Administration had all the evidence they needed to make these announcements months ago when they could have had an impact on this war and they chose not to make them. With less than 2 weeks left in power, this is nothing more than a reflection of a guilty conscience.
That said, it is not too late for these announcements to be impactful inside Sudan. As RSF and Hemedti attempt to reinvent themselves as legitimate political actors in a post-war Sudan, these determinations make it that much harder. The only hope is that the EU and the ICC follow Washington's lead and expand the these determinations so it is not just a US measure.
But importantly, this announcement falls short in a big way that ultimately undermines its impact. Why not sanction the entirety of the RSF and not just Hemedti? Hemedti is important, but the RSF needs to be outlawed in a way to prevent it from further recruiting or further expanding its business empire or further receiving support from outside actors.
Lastly, the more concerning element to me is the gratuitous statement that the US does not support the SAF and doesnt see any side as having any legitimacy. That may well be true, but striking this moralistic tone does nothing to help advance a solution to this conflict. It further distances Washington from the players making war, making it less relevant to finding a solution or having influence in the future of Sudan.
That seems to have been the sub-text to this Administration's entire approach to Sudan: taking the moral high ground at every turn, but never having enough of a strategic or practical sense to actually change the situation on the ground. Fin.
🎯SAPA's key strategy to address the impact of the war is training local healthcare workers in #Sudan.
Trainers from abroad held a virtual workshop on critical care basics for 15 nurses to enhance their skills in pediatric emergencies and improve healthcare quality.
Sudan is years away from a process to form a civilian government but currently living through mass death and starvation. This reflects. A major error in sequencing and expectation management.
The Army has had a massive break through in Bahri. The RSF militia who is preoccupied with trying to prevent the army trying to advance in Khartoum seems unable to stop the advance in Bahri.
