If @UF wants to be a top 5 public school, it needs to pay its graduate employees a top 5 wage!! Grad assistants aren't able to afford rent, doctor's visits, groceries, or childcare... meanwhile UF continues to delay bargaining with us for a living wage #PayUpUF#Top5Pay@uf_gau
@Mrkgnao67@UF And we certainly aren't paid like "superhumans!" If they want Avengers level labor from us, they need to start paying us Avengers level salaries!
@sunjay97247103 @UF Also, not "anyone who is fearful" can stay home. Only faculty/staff/GAs who can prove their vulnerability according to UF's standards will be given that option. What if I don't meet the standard but am fearful for my health or my family's health? Do I risk my life to keep my job?
@sunjay97247103 @UF Older people's lives are not disposable. No one is disposable. When you say that most deaths were "older than students and faculty anyways," you not only ignore the reality that this virus is harmful to people of any age but also imply that older folks don't matter.
@UF U wanna be in the top 5 public unis? Start proving that u actually care about our lives. Start protecting this entire community, not ur reputations & wallets & privileged asses. Start valuing the most vulnerable in the gator fam who keep this university going, even when u don't.
@UF I am not superhuman. None of us are. I am a person who remains vulnerable to this disease & who has to devote extra time & labor to moving my classes online. Calling us superhuman is a poor excuse for putting our health at risk & refusing to compensate us for that extra labor.
@UF Also, students can't take advantage of the opportunities of in person learning if they, their professors, their GTAs, or their university staff are dead. You have an endowment to protect against financial hardship (so use it!), but there's no backup plan for human lives.
Ah yes, the 5 Shakespearean love languages:
- Faking your death
- Dying together
- Dying alone
- Having a minor miscommunication that results in the deaths of many
- Regicide
Please recognize that all the things the political establishment does to address racism in the aftermath of mass protest are things they could’ve done all along & chose not to.
@lisatatonetti I was a bit disappointed about how the season ends, although I know it's not the intended finale and that episodes had to be cut because of the pandemic. (Not nearly as anti-climatic as the bandaid season finale of Charmed, though!) But it opens up a lot for season 2!!
