@BertPretorius 1 Tim 2:1–2 I urge, then, FIRST OF ALL, that petitions, PRAYERS, intercession and thanksgiving BE MADE for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
Things change when we pray 🙏🏻
@BertPretorius@LadyBilong It starts at home, and we need to model love to our nation as families, a model of unity in our nation across board from and for all races and cultures! Together we conquer! Great and important points to consider and action - thank you Ps @BertPretorius
@BertPretorius@CyrilRamaphosa So important that we all take responsibility for our nation, and not just leave it to the government. Together we conquer! Praying for our nation!! 🙌🏻🙏🏻
Earlier this week I had a quick two days in Israel. We met with survivors of the Oct 7 Hammas-led massacre of mostly civilians that triggered the current war. Met with parents whose children are still held as hostages. Met with foreign affairs officials to discuss the current status and views in the Middle East. Met with President Isaac Herzog and discussed the current situation and amongst others the possibilities of bringing an end to the war. We pray for peace whilst working hard to do our bit.
So proud of my wife @charnepretorius and our youngest daughter Madison (13yrs) preaching at the ladies Conference in Bogota, Colombia. With over 15k ladies per day in attendance with 2 daily conferences for 4 consecutive days. Thank you Pastora @EmmaClaudiaC and @cesarcaste for your example.
As the SACC we were at the Union Buildings today to meet with President @CyrilRamaphosa joined by Vice President Paul Mashatile and various cabinet ministers to discuss issues of national importance amongst others corruption, crime, national healing and reconciliation, unity, accountability, vision and legacy for the future.
Had a great time with New Life Church Witbank with Pastors @PsRyanLangkilde Jaqueline and their family. Four packed out services. Amazing to see what God is doing. Great church, great pastors!
@BertPretorius Wow! A powerful reminder of the church’s mission! True transformation happens when we take responsibility and get involved. Grateful for these important conversations at the G20 Interfaith Forum. May we as citizens continue to be the hands and feet of Christ in our communities!
Today we gathered together with faith leaders at the G20 Interfaith Forum planning meeting to discuss the necessity of collaboration with all stakeholders to bring about transformation in our communities. I spoke about the critical role of the church using Luke 4:18 as the foundation where JESUS said: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me: To preach the gospel to the poor (marginalized); He has sent
Me to heal the brokenhearted (hurting), to proclaim liberty to the captives (oppressed), and recovery of sight (vision) to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed…” Jesus emphasizes compassion, a love for one’s neighbour, which means the necessity of confronting systemic evils, confronting poverty, inequality, war, speaking out against policies and practices that contradict biblical moral imperatives, and practically demonstrating the practical application of social justice.
