If your coach holds everyone accountable, you are VERY fortunate. A lot of coaches allow some players to do whatever they want, whenever they want with absolutely no consequence. Discipline, responsibility & accountability are life prep! If your coach cares that much, respect it!
“I pray my journey may be a clear depiction of submission and obedience to God... He has prepared me for a moment such as this. That I may use the gifts He has given me to point all the attention back to Him."

“I think I was growing into my own person. And I think the biggest difference this year is my faith, trusting God and trusting that process, and knowing that He’s in control of everything."

Please spend 15 minutes of research on learning softball pitches and the game. It's really not that complicated.
But if I have to hear you say "that was a good slider" or "that fastball really dropped" one more time...
It’s unfair, but others will often judge you by the people you’re around. Be very intentional about who’s in your circle & who you choose to surround yourself with. People are quick to assume you’re doing what everyone else is doing. Remember, bad company corrupts good character.
SOFTBALL NEWS: The AHSAA state softball tournament is moving to Oxford, for at least this year and next year.
Huge (!!) news for the softball community.

One of the biggest weaknesses in high school & college athletes is their diet. If you want to gain weight & build muscle, you better start eating intentionally. Food is fuel. You can’t eat like a bird if you want to play like a bull! Training & rest is key, but nutrition is king!
Playing it safe robs you of every opportunity. Never be afraid to foul out, shoot an air ball, charge, travel, or lose, because if you are, you’ll never have the opportunity to score, hit a 3, make a play or win. You can’t compete based on what if’s. Don’t play scared; just play!
FRONT TOSS is a staple drill that you'll find every day with every team. It's a part of a hitter's routine that helps get their swing right before heading out to the field. Different players have different focal points, but all done with purpose. #STdrills
Coaches: Players don’t usually quit because they hate their sport. Sometimes they walk away due to the actions or inactions of their coach/staff and/or the daily culture & environment of the team. If this sounds familiar, you may need to reflect on your leadership & make changes.
Parents: The world doesn’t care about your child’s feelings. When they’re given trophies for showing up, it teaches them that happiness depends on outside factors, but it doesn’t. They won’t be successful until they can lose, get past the hurt feelings & still come back tomorrow.
Parents: You’re raising a child, not an athlete. Teach them respect, hard work, how to be a good person. Show them what character & work ethic are. Hold them accountable. Teach them that they won’t ever get what they don’t earn. Strong, well-rounded kids find success much easier.
Today we ran to honor the life of Ahmaud Arbery. Yesterday should have been his 26th birthday. Today we ran and we prayed. We prayed for a change of heart for people who hate so much. #irunwithmaud
