#TTYCT 🇨🇦⛸ at the @MeridianCtre last night was amazing! Got some cool photos of the cast last night, thank you all for coming down to St. Catharines!

Child psych patient today: We did trivia today and I won! It was old people music, you know like Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears
Me: 😳 so that’s what’s considered old now, gotcha 🙃
@Archaeomadman@ThereWillBStars I don’t see anyway that skating in the event in a days time will protect her from any future damage. No matter what, the child is the victim, but this decision also promotes/perpetuates the choices the abusers made.
CAS claims that Kamila Valieva is a protected person as a minor and therefore is not suspended. This ruling protects everyone BUT Kamila. It sends the message that coaches, federations, and team physicians can abuse a minor athlete and dope them with no consequence.
@Archaeomadman@ThereWillBStars I have a teenaged sister who is also a figure skater. I feel for Kamila, she’s been betrayed by the adults she trusted. But the damage is done-her victory or defeat will be ? and it’s not her fault. Taking her away from the abuse would maybe protect her from further damage.
As someone who probably wants to go into pediatrics and sports medicine in the future, I find this ruling abhorrent. Authority figures, especially physicians, should be looking out for the best interests of a child and protecting them, not harming them.
Can we have more clarity and consistency on booster eligibility @ONThealth? Kids born in 2004 (and are turning 18 in 2022) and are 3-6 mos post 2nd dose are told they are eligible on the provincial portal and can book appointments, but denied at site since they are not yet 18.
Parents drove to the Niagara Falls vax clinic from St. Catharines only to be declined, which is an inconvenience to all. Most of these teens are 6+ months post 2nd dose and want to be protected. Clarification and consistency on this matter would be appreciated.
With holiday dinners approaching here’s some PSAs for everyone:
#1) peeling, or removing meat from a dish does not make it vegetarian. Don’t leave us with that option. It doesn’t work religiously, but also I’ve never had meat and my body doesn’t tolerate it.
#2) if someone says they’ve been vegetarian for a while (or always), don’t say “that’s weird” or “you’re missing out”. I still get people saying it’s weird in med school.
Biggest problem with Facebook and Instagram being down is that I don’t have any of my med school friends’ cell phone numbers and now I’m disconnected from everyone
Finishing the day @GymnasticsMed with @MadisonKocian, @MeganSkaggs_ , and @ohara_mags. Thanks to the organizers for a great event, an amazing learning experience for this med student interested in sports medicine 🤸🏻♀️
