Remembering Periyar E. V. Ramasamy on his birth anniversary.

Born on 17 September 1879, Periyar devoted his life to challenging caste hierarchy, untouchability and social inequality. He founded the Self-Respect Movement in 1925, which promoted self-respect, rationalism and social equality, and played a prominent role in the Vaikom Satyagraha (1924–25) against caste-based restrictions on public roads.

His work profoundly shaped the social reform movement in Tamil Nadu and left a lasting influence on debates around caste, equality, rationalism and women’s rights.

Remembering a life dedicated to questioning hierarchy and demanding human dignity.

सम्राट मिहिरभोज प्रतिहार , प्रतिहार क्षत्रिय थे। यही प्रतिहार क्षत्रिय कालान्तर में परिहार या पढियार राजपूत कहे जाने लगे और आज भी राजस्थान से लेकर बिहार तक मौजूद हैं।

ज़िंदा लोगों (प्रतिहारों, परिहार या पढियार राजपूतों) को जब भाजपा आरएसएस के ब्राह्मण , गुज्जर बताने लगे और वही काम चंद्रशेखर रावण भी करे - तो समझना मुश्किल नहीं है कि कौन किसकी बी टीम है।
आखिर क्यों ब्राह्मण ऐसी मूलनिवासीविरोधी गतिविधियां कर रहे हैं । ब्राह्मण चालाक है वो करनी सेना का भी इस्तेमाल करता है और भीम आर्मी का भी।
इसलिए जो इन सेनाओं-आरमियों से मुक्ति चाहते हैं बामसेफ से जुड़ीय - यही ऐसे गुलामों का तोड़ है।

इस ऐतिहासिक अभियान के उद्घाटन कार्यक्रम में बड़ी संख्या में पदाधिकारियों, कार्यकर्ताओं एवं समाज के जागरूक साथियों के पस्थिति में उद्घाटन सभा सफलतापूर्वक संपन्न हुई।

The Eiffel Tower was temporarily closed after female employees were sidelined during a private visit by a BAPS delegation.

On September 5, around 100 people linked to BAPS - (Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha) visited the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The visit took place during events connected to the inauguration of BAPS’s first major Hindu temple in France.

During the visit, female employees at the Eiffel Tower were instructed to leave some of their workstations and move away from areas where the delegation was present. In some positions, women were replaced by male colleagues. Female employees were also reportedly instructed to avoid certain areas while the delegation passed through.

The arrangements triggered anger among Eiffel Tower employees. Staff held a protest on September 7, and the monument was temporarily closed while employees met with management. The Eiffel Tower reopened the following day.

The Eiffel Tower’s operating company, SETE, acknowledged that the visiting delegation had requested arrangements intended to limit interactions with women. SETE said the conditions should not have been accepted because they were inconsistent with the principles of equality between women and men.

BAPS apologised for any pain or inconvenience caused by the situation. The organisation said the visit had been coordinated with Eiffel Tower management because of the size of the delegation and was scheduled early to minimise disruption. BAPS also said that, to its knowledge, nobody had been prevented from entering the Eiffel Tower.

Paris authorities have opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. French political figures have also criticised the decision to sideline female employees and stressed that equality and non-discrimination must apply at the Eiffel Tower.

The incident has therefore raised questions not only about the conduct of the visiting delegation, but also about the decision by Eiffel Tower management to accept and implement conditions affecting its own employees.

The Eiffel Tower is a workplace as well as a global landmark. The investigation will determine how the arrangements were requested, approved and carried out.
