How the fuck do we live in a country where the exact same people are now saying Gaza should be given back to the Israelis “because it’s their ancient lands” but Australia SHOULDN’T be given back to Indigenous people “because it’s only their ancient lands”??
#NewsCorpse
It’s a system fail when so many Australians are struggling to pay their electricity bills - while ExxonMobil makes $15.5 bn, Santos 4.7bn, Chevron 5.2 bn … and pay no tax.
We need to overhaul how the fossil fuel industries are taxed in this country. https://t.co/NF1Zvrdg8K
Woolworths and Coles are price gouging customers, suppliers, and transport companies while ripping off their workers and making record profits. We have to pack our own groceries and aren't offered a discount to do so. Their greed is fuelling inflation and the poor are destitute.
1/2. As promised over recent months, MFW is shortly to kick into a higher gear.
We ask all interested in our work to read this tweet and our pinned tweet; share our message; and follow us on as many platforms as you can so you’re getting our calls to action.
After spending the past year running several successful campaigns (including ensuring Donald Trump Jnr. didn’t come here to spread hate and lies and being a significant part of Rupert Murdoch’s recent profit drop of ~75%) and then focussing on the Voice Referendum, we’re now ready to further reduce the impact of hate media in Australia and elsewhere.
And because we’re a collective of like-minded activists (who call ourselves witches: yes, the men are witches too), we want to seek agreement on some issues first before implementing campaign/s.
This first step is to decide the right campaign to focus on next. We’ve two campaigns almost ready to go, so here’s a short description of each:
1. We’ll ramp up our #FossilFools campaign, centred on climate crisis. It’s the topic closest to the hearts of most witches (when genocide isn’t centre stage). This campaign will involve two parts:
- The first is to look at companies in Australia (mainly sporting clubs and arts orgs) still, in 2023, sponsored by fossil fuel companies. There are 20-30 such national or state-wide orgs, and we’ll firmly ask them to divest these partnerships: if they won’t, we’ll collectively boycott all their other sponsors and partners.
- The second is to target companies whose CEO’s are members of the Business Council of Australia. For those who remember, this Council (apart from regular attacks on workers and the poor) is the bastard group which in late July opposed Andrews’ decision to ban gas appliances in all new homes from early 2024. For this, BCA said the initiative “put Australia's net zero by 2050 commitment at risk” when in fact, it does the opposite. Yet the CEO’s of Australia’s biggest corporations (including orgs with no business supporting anti-climate action such as Australia’s biggest universities) are all members of BCA. We insist they stop, and will run a boycott campaign against the 800 or so companies currently members.
2. The second campaign (#MurdochFreeWorld) we believe Australia is ready for. Essentially, we’ll pivot from asking advertisers to stop *paying for* Murdoch’s hate media to asking stockists to stop *spreading* Murdoch’s hate media. This means we send polite emails and messages to cafes, medical centres, schools, transport orgs, supermarkets and other businesses which either supply Murdoch newspapers free of charge to staff, clients and/or customers, or who play Sky News TV in their outlets. We’ll set up a dedicated website page to record such stockists, and ask witches to boycott those on the lists who refuse to divest of providing this media. At this stage, this campaign will focus only on Murdoch material, but might expand to other hate media later.
In essence, this will mirror the amazing UK campaign where the entire city of Liverpool boycotted “The Sun” newspaper (also owned by Murdoch), which continues to this day. If you haven’t heard of it, have a read:

We believe a shitload of Aussies are angry enough now to want Murdoch’s crap out of their cafes and schools. The anti-climate, racist, sexist and genocide-promoting bullshit they keep churning out has gone way too fucking far. Do you agree?
The biggest problem we’ve got ATM is we don’t have the resources to pay staff to run both campaigns. If you want us to run both, you can of course donate for it (https://t.co/yZ0i3SfsTs), and vote accordingly too.
But otherwise, please vote on the poll (in our second tweet in this thread) to say which campaign you’d prefer. If you want something else entirely and/or want to explain your vote more fully, please do so in a reply.
Here we go, witches.
Vote, stay witchy, and stay tuned.
Because if not us, then who?

Warren Mundine was one of the front people for the No campaign
Warren has a voice
Warren also has a mine
For the above, the majority of Indigenous people lost the opportunity for a voice … a bit of a lack of transparency there, wouldn’t you say, Wazza‼️
With the official end of the COVID-19 emergency response, this will be the last regular COVID-19 vaccine safety report. Routine safety monitoring and surveillance will continue, along with timely communication of any updated safety advice:

@TracyWesterman Agree 💯 percent. Self-determination is a human right and unfortunately it wasn't recognised nor accepted by many. Another sad day in the history of this country 😪
Seeing so many comments on all social media platforms that Indigenous people didn’t want The Voice. I have also heard that in real life from people that I know. Now the votes are in, and they show that this accusation is false, most Indigenous people voted Yes, I really hope that those who were part of pushing this narrative acknowledge the fact that they were so wrong. I doubt that will happen. I believe most who were pushing this false narrative that Indigenous people didn’t want The Voice, knew this wasn’t true. They cheated and lied to get their own way. Disgraceful. Shame on them. It’s a very dark time in our country’s history. History will show that we were fooled by a false narrative.
Making a point on disinformation, Albo asks room full of journos if any of them believed the rubbish claims The Uluru Statement from the Heart is 26 pages — not a single one of them says yes.
A powerful exposé of the media's role in knowingly spreading falsehoods.
What a terrible referendum result.
I thought Australians would have seen through the lies, division and politicking of the LNP, Murdoch press and various media commentators.
I was wrong.
The nation is the poorer for the rejection of the offer from indigenous Australians.
