I want to remind you that depression and anxiety are real.
You don't need to understand it or be able to explain it.
Depression is a neurological condition, it's more than an emotion or "feeling".
The way you feel isn't your fault and you can't just "think more positively" and you'll be better.
That's like telling someone to just not have a broken arm anymore because you're giving the broken bone too much credit.
If you'd like to look at ACTUAL medical opinions (and not that of an edgy 19-year-old), you can read some medical journals written about depression here:
"Neural Circuits in Major Depressive Disorder: Neurobiological Mechanisms of Symptom Remediation" by Kálmán J. Magyar and colleagues, published in Current Neuropharmacology in 2020. This study examines the neural circuits involved in depression and how they are affected by treatment.
"Depression is a Disease" by Charles B. Nemeroff, published in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry in 1998. This study argues that depression should be considered a disease rather than a reaction to life events or a personality disorder.
"Neuroimaging and Depression: Current Status and Unresolved Issues" by Helen S. Mayberg and colleagues, published in Biological Psychiatry in 2005. This study reviews the use of neuroimaging techniques to study depression and discusses the challenges in interpreting the results.
"The Neurobiology of Depression: An Integrated View" by Helen S. Mayberg, published in Current Opinion in Neurobiology in 2006. This study provides an overview of the neurobiological mechanisms underlying depression and discusses the implications for treatment.
"Structural and Functional Brain Abnormalities in Major Depressive Disorder: A Comprehensive Review" by Shingai Uehara-Aoyama and colleagues, published in Neural Plasticity in 2020. This study reviews the structural and functional brain abnormalities associated with depression and their potential role in the development of the disorder.
These studies provide insight into the complex relationship between depression and the brain, as well as the various approaches to understanding and treating this debilitating condition.

No pressure. No promises. Just a fairer shot.
Let's become each other's biggest supporters, without even trying.
I haven’t been streaming much lately, and I know that’s noticeable. I didn’t burn out and I didn’t disappear. I just reached a point where going live felt harder than trying to fix something that’s been bothering me about this scene for years.
(A thread worth your time)
I hope that you're much, much better to yourself in 2026.
Take care of your physical health.
Take your mental health seriously.
Exercise.
Clean.
Read.
Feel what you need to feel.
Cut shit people out.
Do the thing.
The year owes you nothing, but you owe yourself this year.
This time of year is full of highlight reels.
Goals ticked off.
Milestones reached.
New intentions already being set.
And that can be inspiring.
But it’s not the whole story.
If all you did this year was breathe, survive, and keep showing up in the middle of loss, trauma, illness, or pain, that is not “less than”.
That is resilience.
That is courage.
That is deeply impressive.
You’re allowed to enter the new year gently.
No rush. No pressure.
One breath. One step. One day at a time. 🩵
Part of me really struggles with this time of year.
Because for so many people, it isn’t festive.
It’s lonely.
It’s grief.
It’s the empty chair at the table that everyone pretends not to look at.
If Christmas feels heavy, you’re not broken. You’re human.
And if all you did this year was survive, hold it together, get out of bed when it felt impossible, or simply make it through… that counts. That is not “nothing”. That is strength, even if it doesn’t feel shiny or Instagram-worthy.
So if today is quiet, sad, complicated, or just something to get through, I see you.
I haven't done this for a LONG time but I've been spending more time on Twitch and I came across a homie that started streaming because they won a PC from @LockedElf69 and you should come show her some love:

The bots and the early birds always win.
I got tired of losing. So I built something to even the odds. 👇 🧵
