@IanWilsonAuthor agreed. I feel likes it’s easier to nestle past and future tense into a present tense writing. When writing in past tense I often find it hard to differentiate between the current time frame and things that happened even farther back. If that makes sense

Question. What is your preferred tense when writing non-fiction. AND WHY?

For the longest time, I preferred past tense, but am really coming to enjoy present tense. I feel like it offers more depth and a sense of time to things.

@MeganGrant333 Mine isn’t strictly a romantasy, but my protag’s name is none of those. It’s a name I’ve actually never seen in a book. I’m keeping the particulars of that series close to the vest, but there are still a couple good original names out there that don’t sound too off the wall.
