During discussions on a submission proposing that the Constitution’s provision that “everyone has the right to healthcare” be amended, UDM questioned why access to healthcare and other state-provided benefits for non-citizens cannot be framed as a privilege rather than a constitutional right.

Parliament’s legal adviser responded that healthcare is a basic right.

Lulonke was walking with his older sister when they were sent to a nearby house. The sister entered the house while Lulonke stayed outside.
