Today, everyone knows who's got the power.
Now it's time for @UofCalifornia to settle fair contracts with all 48,000 workers who make this University run.

Amazing but true: your brain does not sleep all at once. In fact, your hippocampus and neocortex spend about 1/3 of the night in different sleep states. Check out our new results: https://t.co/CmvOSC2u3L
We show for the 1st time that the human hippocampus can be in a completely different sleep state than the neocortex & it normally happens 1/3rd of the night. See the hippocampus (top) change state 1/2 way through while the cortex (2nd line) does not. Can you see it in the 2nd ex?
New paper out now: DBS enhances human memory in three hippocampus-dependent memory tasks. But only in right, entorhinal white matter.
Thanks to all authors for Herculean effort to get this paper to the finish line, especially @Zahra_M_Aghajan, @SuthanaLab, and @ItzhakFried
New paper with @brendon_watson! We compared low and high firing neurons across sleep/wake states in frontal cortex and hippocampus and controlled for regression-to-the-mean: https://t.co/vI78QXZDSH
