what sucks is that you can still buy physical media for movies and music. you can still buy a CD for new albums! the options are still there. it's wild to just be like "no options from now on"
@ttwisted35 Graves throwing the smokescreen and being able to ignite it on fire like Teemo bush.
And having the same Q/Wall interaction from League but in the corner for some saucy shotgun fire combos
@starslayerr@alisotubarao@AlecStrider@RaphaelPat64597@Play2XKO With that in mind, I don't think I'd put Sett/Zed before the year 1 character gameplay we've gotten so far (unique zoner with cool combos, ninja archetype given zeds main mechanic is similar to rewind, stance switch senna, and chain based Thresh, and now shoto mage + dante)
@starslayerr@alisotubarao@AlecStrider@RaphaelPat64597@Play2XKO Idk to me Sett seems like the most generic of grapplers/brawlers so I don't see the hype. Zed is cool/iconic, but gameplay wise I feel like we're covered between Akali and Ekko (rewind is basically a shadow clone mechanic)

@jchensor@TheNitten I think there's a big difference in how a move feels with a hold vs just having a long animation. It's like a charge motion but translated into simple inputs.
And not just accidentally releasing it, but partial holds are also an important factor in the combo system
@jchensor@TheNitten For the S2 point, the holds are part of the game design. Just like how motion inputs require a minimum physical amount of time to perform (and the combat is balanced around that) 2X uses holds to the same effect while keeping simple inputs
@TheNitten@_Polkadot__ oppression while still giving an advantage state to the offensive player. Plus it's a cool way of seeing more of the environment.
In a tag fighter I also think it's important to give times of animation for players to evaluate how they next approach neutral. (3/3)
@TheNitten@_Polkadot__ (2/3) they chose to keep that aspect in. Now that I'm more seasoned I understand why wall breaks get hate, but I like the strategic depth they are adding (supers don't break wall, breaking gives assist) that were all lessons learned from Strive.
It allows for less corner..
@itssquiddd@RantyArts They did say it though. Korra practices on a clump of metal with more impurities when she's first learning. I don't think it's a far stretch that the principle is being used elsewhere in metal bending
@itssquiddd@RantyArts But with metal bending becoming taught since its invention, wouldn't it be safe to assume they would develop alloys that have more impurities to make bending easier?
We know they use platinum if they don't want metal to be bended so why not the other way around?
@MezzaFGC@PerfectLegend A longer cool down and losing access to fuse is literally a consequence. Other guy can think that's not enough but it's definitely a disadvantage for losing a character

To every individual in the President’s chain of command: You have a duty to refuse illegal orders. That includes carrying out this threat.
