Great hour by the chief constable. So refreshing to hear informed responses based on facts and evidence countering some of the nonsense which makes its way onto social media.
More scaremongering BS from Julian, the consultation doesn't specifically mention that there is no requirement for medical training or knowledge. To then link it in the the Letby case is preposterous.
The case of Jolene Van Alstine which Julian highlighted is sad, however, an important fact which he left out for some reason, is that she did not gain full approval for MAID.
More BS from Dr.Julian. There are numerous peer reviewed studies stating the dangers of Vitamin D at 100k IU levels. If he lies about this what else does he lie about. Plenty is the answer. https://t.co/tlGlBem3gH
A little bit of scaremongering there, it is a very small scale experiment, after indoor testing it may not even happen. There are no toxic substances used. https://t.co/qFqIhaADPq
2 days ago Julian claimed that eating bread with folic acid would increase autism risk by 17%. Based on 1 report in 2017 which claimed that high levels of folate could lead to this. However, to get to this level would require 300 slices of bread per day!
There has been more than 1 referendum over the last 10 years in Switzerland regarding climate change and how to tackle it. Not quite as clear cut as Julian makes out. https://t.co/EjPhKzJJQx
As for stating that a charger costs £8000 to install, that is nonsense. Maybe looking at around £1500 tops for one, and 70 wouldn't be needed so more scaremongering over a 500k cost.
None of the benefits of an ev van highlighted I notice. 2p per mile to run, hardly any maintenance costs, so over a five year period there are significant savings. Plus cleaner air. There are obviously routes where these vans are not practical but for normal usage nothing wrong.
Terrible take from the host to make out that problems with sewerage, ozone layer, Y2k, miraculously fixed themselves. We listened to scientists and engineers, acted and these issues were dealt with.
In the US wind turbines kill around 140k to 500k, fossil fuels kill around 14.5M. Cats kill 2b birds. Be against wind farms, but at least be honest with the figures you are quoting.
From yesterdays show. Do wind farms kill birds and bats? Yes. However, bird deaths from fossil fuel production kills upto 35x more than wind. Why doesn't Julian bring this stat up? Surely he will be advocating for oil and gas production to stop if he is so concerned about them.
Good on Lawrie Hooper giving the Julian the contempt he deserves. I would respect him if he didn't keep quoting reports incorrectly, or purposely leaving out important context or information.
Take his input on the ice sheet repairing as an example, it is true that for 2 years there was above average snowfall, however as is clearly mentioned in the report, it was a blip and the levels are already back to previous and following the trend over the last 30 years.
