I thought it would be helpful to compile a list of Hip Hop-centered/related summer camp programs that I was seeing across my multiple feeds.
There are so many great programs out there which focus on Hip Hop culture โ not just Hip Hop entertainment โ that we can (and should) put our young people on to.

I know some folks see โHip Hop newsโ and assume it means gossip, beef, release dates, or the usual industry churn.
That is very much not what this is.
This roundup includes stories about Hip Hop and education, mental health, youth work, political expression, legal justice, community-building, independent artists, cultural history, and people using the culture in ways that deserve way more attention.
If you care about Hip Hop as something bigger than entertainment โ or youโre curious what that even means โ this is a good place to start.

Fellow Georgians, each of us should be more concerned about local elections, not less. The decisions made closest to our communities shape our daily lives in profound ways.
Georgia voters deserve a fair and clear ballot.
HB 369 would single out only five counties and remove party labels from ballots for certain local offices, creating unequal treatment, inconsistency, and unnecessary confusion for voters. That is not how we protect democracy.
If we are serious about creating the Beloved Community, we must confront efforts that dilute, obstruct, or deny voting rights. Review the slides for details on HB 369 and how to take action.

With May being Mental Health Awareness Month, I'm highlighting some of my interviews with practitioners and advocates championing culturally responsive therapeutic practices. These conversations are helpful for those in the field, but also educators, parents, and anyone who works with young people.
I also shared some thoughts on language, narrative, and "power" when it comes to who is lifted up as representative voices of a culture, and the problem when those who are, don't have the culture or it's communities best interests at heart.
I also listed various upcoming interdisciplinary Hip Hop events. Again, a great resource for educators, healthcare professionals, community leaders, artists, and honestly, anyone seriously interested in making the world a better place.
Enjoy, and please support this work if you are able.

Thank God I'm not on this list.
Cop my Cornell West-endorsed book if you want more Hip Hop as a way to uplift humanity rather than a vehicle for clickbait journalism.

@mrbiggainz@planetasia Absurd take. There is so much being done in/around/through Hip Hop that's intellectual, radical, revolutionary, uplifting & life changing. You believe otherwise? Understandable -- but it's absolutely, unequivocally false.
I can help point you in the right direction(s)...
