I work multiple jobs in real life so I haven’t been able to consistently watch United(not able to watch today either) but what Amad did for Mbeumo’s goal is why I’m still clinging onto something for him here. Attackers that can change the picture so effortlessly like that>>>
A lot of people are unfortunately going to use set-pieces to discredit Bruno breaking this record in the future. The thing is, if other attackers were on point(I love him but most notably Mbeumo), this record would’ve gone 4 games ago and he’d just be topping up now.
It’s quite simple really. If you thought either player was the overwhelming favourite to win the award, you were kidding yourself. Congrats to Bruno and I hope he still breaks the assist record. Rice could’ve won it but I’m sure he doesn’t care. Literal Champion of England😂😂😂
@alfie__03 His ex-wife was some sports media person in Spain I think and when Mourinho was coach the first time, he accused Casillas of leaking team information to his girl because her company always got wind of things. That’s why Diego Lopez was ahead of him in the GK department them times
I think Chelsea got him for about £7m which was a steal then and would be considered grand theft now. These are the deals Chelsea should be doing and it’s what made them successful in the past. For young FBs, Azpilicueta is one of the best reference points in how to make it still
Another that’s definitely on the more underrated side of things. If we’re talking just defensively, Azpilicueta was probably the best Spanish FB I’ve seen in terms of defending 1v1s, backpost, ground duels etc. Going forward, his crossing was ridiculously pinpoint at times.
Dear football,
Today, I want to share with you that this season will be my last as a professional footballer. After so many years living my dream, I feel it’s time to start a new chapter in my life.
Being honest, even though I have been preparing myself for this moment, I found it hard to write this letter. After 20 seasons , many people have played an important role in my career.
When I first kicked a ball as a child in Pamplona with my schoolmates, I never imagined the amazing journey ahead. I’m grateful for every moment: the wins, the tough losses, the challenges, and most of all, the people I’ve met and the friendships I’ve made along the way.
To my teammates, coaches, and every staff member at all the clubs I’ve been lucky to be part of, thank you for helping me grow as a person and a player every day. Wearing the shirts of CA Osasuna, Olympique Marseille, Chelsea FC, Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla FC, and representing my country at the biggest stages has been a true privilege. Every moment has meant so much to me…
To be honest, as much as I love and respect him, he has gotten more mistake prone as time has gone on but there’s literally a reason why even though he was having the worst time of his life probably in 21/22, he was still getting picked for England and looking competent. Rubbish.
No matter what way I look at it, I think it’s very stupid for Tuchel to not take Maguire to the WC. Considering international football is more focused on box defending, winning duels(especially aerial) and being able to progress play, Maguire goes even if he doesn’t start.
Just because you don’t rate a player doesn’t mean you can’t show respect when they’ve consistently turned up in big moments throughout a season so with that being said, I hope people don’t forget Trossard’s role in Arsenal getting over the line this season.
I’m sorry but he scored way too many clutch goals to be overlooked. When Arsenal needed an attacker to do something, that Trossard shift and shoot won them many valuable points. If he leaves this season, his send-off shouldn’t be small.
Goals are the most important thing and Kroupi is a very good goalscorer but if/when he’s used correctly more often(behind the striker), you’ll actually just see that he’s a pretty good all-around player too. The sport needs these type of dudes.
Haven’t been this moved by a talent like I’ve been moved by Dzenan Pejcinovic. Superb young CF. One of the most complete young 9s in Europe for sure. Complete finisher, superb linkup play, runs channels. Makes nice runs in behind but box movement(?). Crazy prospect regardless.
If they’re smart and ruthless, they have a good chance of creating a dynasty because quite frankly, the squad can be so much better. Sell a couple of attackers and bring in better, get better FBs and get 1 more CF(sell Havertz please) and hmmm, we can more days like today.
The near capitulation was hilarious but congrats to Arsenal can’t lie. Congrats especially to Arteta because the amount of pressure that guy was under after 3 2nd-placed finishes and the amount spent last Summer is comprehensible only to him and him only but he finally delivered.
I think they’ll lose the CL final because PSG are a better team but Arsenal have got some proper characters in that group. People laughed at Rice for saying it isn’t over and now look. Saka always standing out, Eze closes out seasons like few, best CB pairing and GK in the league
