From the Class of 2020, 2021, and 2022 โ The Students You Havenโt Forgotten__
We came here with stethoscopes around our necks and fire in our chests.
We came ready to become doctors for our communities, for our families, for a country that desperately needs us.
That was 2 to 4 years ago.
Today, we are still here. Stuck.
The Class of 2020 and 2021 have been in 300L for 2 to 3 years now.
We have repeated the same lectures. Rewritten the same notes. Watched our juniors in other schools pass us by, graduate, and enter housemanship while we remain frozen in time.
We are frustrated.
Frustrated because we study 12 hours a day for exams that donโt move us forward.
Frustrated because our parents keep asking โwhen will you finish?โ and we have no answer.
Frustrated because we see patients waiting for doctors while we sit idle, with knowledge but no license to use it.
*But more than frustrated, we are pleading.*
Pleading because we have sacrificed everything for this dream.
Pleading because some of our parents have sold land, borrowed money, and aged waiting for the day we become โDr.โ
Pleading because every month without accreditation is another month of lost lives, lost careers, and lost hope.
Accreditation is not a favor. It is the promise you made to us when we were admitted. It is the bridge between the training we have endured and the patients waiting for our hands.
We are not asking you to lower standards. We are asking you to meet them, so we can meet ours.
Give us a clear timeline. Give us the accreditation process you committed to. Give us back our future.
We donโt want pity. We want to serve.
Let us finish becoming doctors.
Respectfully,
_The Class of 2020, 2021, and 2022_
FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES OTUKPO(FUHSO) Medical Students_
@Nigerian_Doctor
๐จ 3 YEARS IN 300 LEVEL. FUHSO ORDERS IMMEDIATE SHUTDOWN AND EVICTION. ๐ณ๐ฌ
We are receiving horrific updates from the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO). A massive crisis is unfolding right now at FUHSO and instead of fixing a severe academic bottleneck, the institution has chosen total intimidation.
This afternoon, May 18, 2026, the university registrar issued an internal memorandum ordering all 300 Level MBBS students (Streams A and B) to pack their bags and vacate the campus and hostels with immediate effect following a physical protest to cry out to the school management and the MDCN to salvage their futures.
Imagine studying for 4 to 6 years, repeating the same 300-level lectures, rewriting the same notes, and watching your peers in other universities graduate while waiting for an accreditation promise that never comes. Then, the moment you plead for your future, you are thrown out onto the streets like criminals.
Why start a medical university if you cannot provide a clinical pathway for your pioneer students?
You cannot run a medical university by keeping your pioneer students in academic captivity and then locking them out the moment they protest; it is completely unacceptable to punish students for the administrative negligence of the institution. Look at the attached photos to see the reality of what these students are facing right now.
WE DEMAND ANSWERS FROM FUHSO MANAGEMENT:
1. Why are students being evicted and punished for physically protesting their academic stagnation?
2. What is the official roadblock preventing the MDCN accreditation visit?
3. When will these students finally sit for their 1st Professional (MB) exams?
Evicting students does not erase the accreditation crisis.
We call on the relevant authorities to intervene immediately, halt this forceful eviction, and provide a clear, binding roadmap for these young medics. ๐ฉบโ

They didnโt fail.
They werenโt expelled.
They didnโt drop out.
They are medical students in Federal University of Health Sciences Otukpo and theyโve been trapped in the same level for 2โ3 years.
While their mates in other schools have graduated and are already in hospitals saving lives.
This isnโt just delay.
Itโs time stolen.
Parents are aging.
Money is running out.
Dreams are quietly breaking.
And the worst part?
Nigeria needs doctors more than ever.
Yet students ready to become doctors are being held back because accreditation is still not in place by Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
This is not fair.
This is not normal.
This is not acceptable.
If this shows up on your timeline, donโt scroll past it.
Repost it.
Because somewhere in Otukpo, future doctors are watching their lives stand still.
