This says SO much about Dean and the way he lives. He’s always surrounded by people. Always going out, flirting, hooking up, moving from one person to the next. He can belong everywhere for a moment without ever having to find out if someone would actually choose him beyond that moment.

And that’s the contradiction. Dean believes that once you leave, nobody misses you—but Dean is always the one leaving first. He keeps everything temporary, and when people eventually move on and find someone willing to give them something real, it only confirms what he already believes: nothing lasts and nobody stays.

He thinks he’s protecting himself from being left, but he’s creating the exact conditions for people to leave.

And now I REALLY need to know what happened to the “old Dean” to make him start living like this.
