I was reading Zero to One by Peter Thiel, where he talks about what makes a business a durable monopoly:
1. proprietary tech
2. economies of scale
3. network effects
4. strong brand

Later that day, I was talking to a friend.
He uses Groww. I use Zerodha.
Naturally, I tried convincing him to switch.
But he wouldn’t budge.

Not because of features.
Not because of pricing.

But because his mutual funds portfolio already sits on Groww.

That’s when it clicked:
What appears to be a UX/distribution choice…
is actually a form of user lock-in.
And when that lock-in compounds across millions of users,
it starts to look a lot like a moat.

That realization pushed me to dig deeper into Groww.
Not just from a product lens - but from a strategy lens.
