இந்திய சினிமாவில் முடிசூடாத் திரைக்கதை மன்னராக, அனைவரையும் ஈர்த்த யதார்த்த நாயகனாக, சிக்கலான சூழலையும் சிறிய வசனத்தில் கடத்திவிடும் ஆற்றல் பெற்ற எழுத்தாளராக என எல்லாவற்றிலும் வெற்றிபெற்ற அசாத்திய இயக்குநராக வலம் வந்தவர் திரு. பாக்யராஜ் அவர்கள்.

தன்னைப் போலவே மேலும் பலரை இயக்குநர்களாக வளர்த்தெடுத்த பெருமைக்குரியவர்.

சில மாதங்களுக்கு முன்புதான், திரு. பாக்யராஜ் அவர்கள் திரையுலகில் 50 ஆண்டுகாலத்தை நிறைவுசெய்ததற்கான விழாவில் கலந்துகொண்டு, முதலமைச்சராக மட்டுமின்றி, அவரது இரசிகனாகவும் அந்த விழாவில் பேசியிருந்தேன். அந்த நினைவுகள் இன்னும் பசுமையாக உள்ளன.

திரைத்துறையில் இன்னும் பல ஆண்டுகள் பங்களிக்கும் வாய்ப்பையும் ஆற்றலையும் பெற்றிருந்த அவர் தம் வாழ்வை நிறைவு செய்து கொண்டுவிட்டது பெரும் இழப்பு.

அவரை இழந்து தவிக்கும் திருமதி. பூர்ணிமா பாக்யராஜ், சாந்தனு, சரண்யா உள்ளிட்ட குடும்பத்தினருக்கும் திரைத்துறை நண்பர்களுக்கும் எனது ஆழ்ந்த இரங்கல்கள்.

தமது படைப்புகளால் பாக்யராஜ் அவர்கள் என்றென்றும் தமிழ்நாட்டு மக்களின் பிரிக்க முடியாத அங்கமாகத் தொடர்ந்து வாழ்வார்.

எதிர்க்கட்சிகள் தூண்டுதலில் விவசாயிகள் போராடுவதாக விவசாயிகளை அவர் கொச்சை செய்ததுக் கண்டிக்கத்தக்கது.

குட்டிக்கதை சொல்கிறேன் என்ற அவரது உளறல் அவை மாண்புக்கு முற்றிலும் எதிரானது.

செங்கல்பட்டு கோர்ட்டில் கணவனை தேடும் மனைவி கதை எல்லாம் தமிழ்நாட்டுக்கே தெரியும்.

சேலம் மாவட்டம் எடப்பாடி தொகுதிக்குட்பட்ட கொங்கணாபுரம் ஒன்றியம், வெள்ளாளபுரம் கிராமத்தைச் சேர்ந்த திரு. சேகர் - புவனேஷ்வரி தம்பதியினரின் 2வது மகள் கோபிகா, நீட் தேர்வு அச்சத்தால் தன் உயிரை மாய்த்துக்கொண்டதாக வந்துள்ள செய்தி மிகுந்த வேதனையை அளிக்கிறது.

மாணவி கோபிகாவை இழந்து வாழும் அவரது பெற்றோர்களுக்கு என்ன ஆறுதல் கூறுவது என்று தெரியாமல் கலங்கி நிற்கிறேன். எல்லாம் வல்ல இறைவன் அவர்களது குடும்பத்திற்கு ஆறுதல் வழங்க வேண்டும் என்று வேண்டுகிறேன்.

நீட் தேர்வு எதிர்ப்பு என்ற கொள்கை நிலைப்பாட்டில் அஇஅதிமுக தொடர்ந்து உறுதியாக இருக்கிறது. மாணவச் செல்வங்கள் நீட் தேர்வு அச்சத்தால் உயிரை விடத் திணிப்பது தவறு என்று பலமுறை அனைத்திந்திய அண்ணா திராவிட முன்னேற்றக் கழகத்தின் சார்பிலும், என் சார்பிலும் வலியுறுத்தி வந்துள்ளோம்.

மாணவச் செல்வங்களே- தேர்வு என்பது மட்டுமல்ல, எந்த ஒரு விஷயமும் உங்கள் உயிரை மாய்த்துக் கொள்ளும் அளவிற்கு முக்கியமானது அல்ல. மருத்துவர் படிப்பு மட்டுமல்லாது, மருத்துவத்துறை தொடர்பாக பல்வேறு பாடப்பிரிவுகள் உள்ளன. நீங்கள் இருந்து சாதிக்க வேண்டியதற்கான வாய்ப்புகள் கொட்டிக் கிடக்கின்றன. உங்கள் சாதனைகளைப் பார்த்து மகிழ உங்கள் பெற்றோர்கள் காத்திருக்கிறார்கள். அவர்களுக்காக எந்தவொரு தவறான முடிவையும் எடுக்காமல், பிரச்சனைகளை எதிர்கொண்டு வெல்லுங்கள்!

I took some time to review the White Paper published by the TVK Govt on the state of Tamil Nadu's finances.

No surprises, as most of it was already known. In many ways, it serves as a post-mortem of the State’s fiscal mismanagement over the past five years, laying bare the extent of the deterioration and benchmarking Tamil Nadu’s key financial indicators against those of other similarly industrialised states.

-₹10 Lakh crore outstanding debt & per capita outstanding debt at ₹1,28,934
-Interest payments at 22.8% of total revenue receipts.
-State’s own tax revenue (SoTR) to GSDP ratio fell from 5.93% in 2021-22 to 5.45% in 2025-26.
-Major State PSUs in power, transport, and civil supplies hold a combined debt of ₹3.18 lakh crore.
-Revenue loss due to systemic corruption, suppressing registration revenues by undervaluing real estate prices and many more.

The shrinking working-age population in TN by 2031 leaves the state with very little time to recover and strengthen its revenue base. This is a serious issue!

The TVK Govt, therefore, has very little time at its disposal and must not treat this White Paper as an excuse for non-performance; instead, it should explore ways to repair the damage done. I propose that the government form a “functional” consultation group that includes not only academicians and economists but also experts from all fronts to find constructive ways to mitigate the crisis at hand.
