The art of living... is neither careless drifting on the one hand nor fearful clinging to the past on the other. It consists in being sensitive to each moment, in regarding it as utterly new and unique, in having the mind open and wholly receptive.

20 years ago today, on August 17th, I stopped using drugs and alcohol.
20 years later, I'm STILL grateful to those who helped me through that self-destructive period, and trying to be a beacon of hope for others.
20 years from now, I hope to be still drug free and truly blessed.
2 years ago today, I quit smoking cigarettes, and I'm STILL tobacco free!
I'll tell you, this has not been an easy journey, and some days are harder than others. But I keep it simple and just take it one day at a time. Sometimes I have to do one HOUR at a time.
There are many relapses that are part of my story, times I've tried to get clean and failed, ever since I was 17 years old. It doesn't matter how many times you fall, as long as you keep getting back up.
I share about this publicly because I hope to reach people who are struggling the way I was, someone who thinks "what's the point" the way I once did because I failed so many times.
Just keep getting up. And don't pick up.
ONE DAY AT A TIME.
A driver constantly carries water to the thirsty camels in the desert. Camels' joy is a divine spark, while kindness magically turns even a desert into a happy & beautiful place. 🙏🪄

It’s tough to see some of the images coming out of Hawai’i — a place that’s so special to so many of us. Michelle and I are thinking of everyone who has lost a loved one, or whose life has been turned upside down.
If you’d like to help, you can do so here.

@RepKweisiMfume So proud of u for calling out the republicans for their ridiculous actions concerning hunter biden. We need real help with health care etc. thank you
People are hurting in real ways in so many places across the country and the Republican majority in the U.S. House is wasting time holding “hearings” to benefit a political agenda. (1/3) https://t.co/ew89J3v8bC
Today Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene called for more mental hospitals and drug rehab centers to be funded by the federal and state governments.
I find it a bit strange that she’s making these calls after being just one of 20 members of Congress who voted against the bipartisan ‘Restoring Hope for Mental Health and Well-Being Act’ that would bolster access to crisis care, provide millions of dollars in grants for community mental health services, and reauthorize making high-quality housing and services available that would be dedicated to substance abuse recovery.
The bill passed the House 402 - 20 and MTG was one who voted against it.
Why?
What should be done about mental health problems in America? I’d love to hear your opinions.
@ER_RN_TNCCI 🫂I'm sorry this happened to you, to all health care persons. You were just trying to help people & be the best you. For profit be damned! I appreciate you- one nurse to another🫂

I see this smile at our dog park all the time. Several "bully" Mastiffs are regulars. 140-160 lb opposed to Ben's 86. Heads the size of basketballs. So friendly & gentle. Mosey up to you with that big smile, lean on... 1/2
@AngelaLovesNY SAME. And I relied HEAVILY on Hobby Lobby for stuff for my jewelry!!! I simply quit going without throwing a fit that other people continued on. You can just... adjust your life based on your morals and values. It's wild.
