Know about the HEIs of India!
The National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (NIAMT), formerly known as the National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT), was established in 1966 by the Government of India in collaboration with UNDP-UNESCO. Over the years, @niamt_ranchi has grown into a unique institution dedicated to training, education, and research, customized to the needs of the Indian manufacturing sector. Recognizing its distinctiveness, NIAMT Ranchi has been granted the status of a Deemed-to-be University under a special category.
NIAMT's academic structure includes a comprehensive four-tier system offering Advanced Diploma, B. Tech, M. Tech, and PhD programs, designed to meet the demands of the manufacturing industry. This curriculum integrates various engineering disciplines, such as metallurgy, materials engineering, foundry and forge technology, electronics, computer science, mechanical engineering, production and industrial engineering, and humanities, fostering holistic manufacturing capabilities. Students trained under this balanced curriculum of fundamentals, practical training, and internships are consistently sought after by core sector industries across India.
NIAMT focuses on developing a translational research ecosystem while promoting skills and entrepreneurship incubation. The Institute has collaborated with several academic institutions, industries, and research organizations through agreements and MoUs. To stay ahead in the digital transformation era, NIAMT has set up a Centre of Excellence in Industry 4.0 in partnership with the Software Technology Park of India. Recognizing the untapped potential in small-scale rural artisanship and organic resource-based livelihoods in Jharkhand, the Institute has created the iTBI centre, MSME incubation centre, and a 'women technology park.'
