Last week, I got to tell you that 4.5 million people were guests at AMC Theatres and Odeon Cinemas. Big numbers.
But now, I have the distinct privilege to tell you that more than 6.9 million people were guests at our theatres this week !!!!!!!
Our highest attended week of 2025!
As per Grok, these are the top ten tickers over a 12 month period in terms of average dark pool trading volume % of total volume. #AMC#GME#BB#NOK@SECGov@CEOAdam
This is real news. Announced yesterday. AMC AND NETFLIX
“Netflix, the world’s largest streaming service, and AMC Entertainment, the world’s largest theatre chain, have jointly decided to work together.
This new cooperation will start this Halloween weekend. AMC will show Netflix's most-popular movie in its history, KPop Demon Hunters. It will play on approximately 400 AMC screens across its theatres in the U.S. and Europe.
While the two companies have not had a commercial relationship in recent years, both Netflix and AMC are intrigued by the mutually beneficial opportunities that could arise from this and future collaboration.
Discussions are underway as to what that may entail, but no further details are being shared at this time.”
We announced today that AMC Entertainment successfully extinguished an additional $40 million of debt, and that it cost us essentially nothing incrementally to do so.
There was a clause in our July 2025 refinancing that contemplated this possibility, if certain things happened in August and September. They did happen as we hoped they would, and so this extra $40 million of debt went away.
It is only about 1% of our long term debt, but every bit helps. A small step forward is still a step forward.
It is earnings day at AMC, and what a day it is. In q2 2025, AMC showcased our impressive operating leverage. As AMC’s revenues grow, our EBITDA can soar. AMC’s 35.6% revenue growth drove an Adjusted EBITDA rise of 391.4%, to such a gratifying $189.2 million. Almost 5x last year!
That second quarter 2025 achievement was $150.7 million more Adjusted EBITDA than was posted in last year’s q2.
With such a sizable increase in adjusted EBITDA, net cash provided by AMC’s operating activities in the quarter surged to a positive $138.4 million, a dramatic turnaround from last year’s net cash used in second quarter operating activities of $34.6 million, and a total favorable swing of $173.0 million quarter over quarter.
For those humans, bots, shills and shorts who like to bash AMC (or for that matter me) on X/Twitter, let me bring back a phrase that’s an oldie but goodie: “Choke on that !!!!!!”
In a nutshell, here it is: It is a simple reality, and hopefully a harbinger of things to come, that as AMC’s revenues grow, our EBITDA can soar.
Our second quarter results are a combination of a recovering industry-wide box office, and the undeniable fact that both AMC and Odeon are executing so well in so many different ways. Indeed, we shattered all-time records across nearly every per patron metric. For the first time ever, consolidated admissions revenue per patron topped $12, coming in at $12.14. Consolidated food and beverage revenue per guest jumped to a record of $7.95. Total consolidated revenue per patron hit an unprecedented $22.26 for us.
These new records powerfully validate our strategic initiatives and that consumers view moviegoing at AMC and Odeon as highly attractive out-of-home entertainment experiences.
And this is where we go from here, with our future shining brightly.
Our AMC Go Plan is working exactly as designed. Even before the industry box office roared back to life in the second quarter, we recognized that state-of-the-art laser projection, more comfortable seating, expanded food and beverage offerings, and a growing focus on premium large format and extra-large format experiences make visits to our theatres even better.
Our premium auditoriums are operating at close to three times the occupancy of a regular auditorium and command a healthy price premium to boot. Clearly, moviegoing guests prefer to see their favorite films in the most immersive, most spectacular formats possible.
AMC Entertainment is the worldwide leader in offering the most IMAX and Dolby Cinema screens, and we're continuing to roll out more IMAX, Dolby Cinema, Prime, iSense, XL and Laser equipped screens.
The combination of a resurgent box office, our unparalleled theatre footprint with premium experiences galore, our compelling marketing programs and our increasing financial strength have a flywheel impact when they all are happening simultaneously.
So at AMC, we look to the future with optimism and confidence and believe that AMC is well positioned to deliver long-term shareholder value.
AMC will announce our Q2 2025 earnings on Monday August 11 at 5:00 pm EDT. At that same time, we will hold an earnings webcast, through the AMC web site at https://t.co/3nFHhlVmuw. I encourage all of you who are interested in the progress AMC is making to join us for the webcast.
AMC Chairman and CEO Adam Aron commented on the record setting Memorial Day weekend results:
“Finally it would appear that our industry has turned a corner. Since early April, weekend after weekend, moviegoers have been demonstrating their preference for theatrical moviegoing. A record-setting Memorial Day holiday is yet another sign of the continued strength and relevance of moviegoing in 2025. With many more potentially huge movies coming in June all the way through the end of 2025, and beyond that deeply into 2026 as well, we firmly expect to be enjoying a robust theatrical box office as we look ahead.”
Aron continued: “This record-setting Memorial Day weekend underscores the long-standing truth that when exceptional films meet unmatched theatrical experiences, audiences respond in a big way. We are especially grateful to our studio partners at Disney and Paramount, as well as the filmmakers, casts, and crews behind LILO & STITCH and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – THE FINAL RECKONING for their creating stories and delivering performances that truly resonated with moviegoers. Their creative efforts, combined with AMC’s continued focus on enhanced sight, sound, and comfort, led to AMC Entertainment enjoying one of the most successful weekends in our company’s history.”

Candidly, there is a stunning amount of false information and opinion grounded neither in fact nor reality about AMC floating around X/Twitter.
The law limits what, when and how I can talk about AMC, but I will have a lot to say about AMC tomorrow.
