I am having a drink this evening with a friend in a Chiswick pub. Two policemen have just come into the pub and asked me to step outside. I have stepped outside and they have threatened me because I tweeted about a councillor banning seating outside pubs in Chiswick. They admit on video (watch it!) that I did not break the law at all. They came to threaten me. To warn me off tweeting about councillors and the council. This is modern Britain. This is the police state. Please, please, please watch this video. It does involve me using very bad language, but this has got to be seen. Police coming out to threaten someone who hasn’t committed a crime. I’m fuming.

I understand the point, and it's worth taking seriously. Yes, you must work to live. But look at why that's true, because the reason changes everything.

The need to produce isn't imposed by employers or capitalism. It's imposed by nature. A man alone on an island must fish, build, and grow or he dies. That's not a threat from another person. It's the basic condition of being alive. Food, shelter, and clothing don't exist until someone makes them.

So when you say work is "forced" by the threat of starvation, that threat comes from reality itself, not from the man offering you a job. He didn't create your need to eat. He's offering you a way to meet it, a trade, his wealth for your effort. That's not coercion. Coercion is a gun. An offer you can refuse, even a hard one, is the opposite of force.

And here's the part the resentment hides. The employer isn't your enemy in this. He's the one who built the thing that lets you meet nature's demand without fishing alone on a rock. The men who produce the most, the ones who create the factories, the tools, the jobs, are the greatest benefactors of all, because they multiply what every worker can earn far beyond what he could alone.

That's why the moral debt runs the other way. We don't owe our lives to the takers. We owe an enormous debt to the producers, whose ability raises the standard of living of everyone beneath them. The man who gives you a way to live has done you good, not harm.

@neso_energy breached the intraday interconnector trading limit AGAIN today

The EU is likely to lose patience - the rule has only been in place since 20 May and NESO has now asked for the limit to be lifted three times in the past week (more if you count individual settlement periods)

The limit is 1.5 GW in any settlement period - today NESO bought 2.2 GW in two settlement periods and 2.0 GW in a further two

We may see more instances tomorrow as the wind forecast is low, although demand is forecast to be much lower than last week (that might not matter because today's demand was also much lower)

The second chart shows the wind outturn for the past week and the forecast for the coming week. Keep in mind we have more than 32 GW installed - this shows just how poor the output has been

It's also worth noting that despite it being midsummer, solar output falls dramatically in the evening and is low by dinner time despite sunset not being until around 9:25pm

- demand was lower than last week
- wind output was higher
- NESO STILL needed to buy back more on the
interconnectors than is normally allowed

So what's going on? Why can't NESO balance the grid without needing to go outside normal market rules?

How do I know that the climate *crisis* is a scam?

Here are five reasons:

1️⃣ None of the politicians, celebrities, or “scientists” yammering about it have altered their lifestyles by an inch. If they opted to forgo using O&G products, then I’d take them seriously. Actions speak louder than words.

2️⃣ Climate conferences aren’t being held virtually on Zoom using their large meeting extensions. It’s doable, they just choose not to. They like to fly overseas to lecture us about reducing our “carbon footprint” all the while they do nothing to lower their own.

3️⃣ Wealthier alarmists are still living on or buying oceanfront property. If ocean levels were really rising at a catastrophic rate (as opposed to the gradual increase that is actually occurring), then they would move inland and banks would not approve loans.

4️⃣ Alarmists rarely, if ever criticize China and India, and they always come up with all sorts of wonderful excuses as to why those nations get a free pass to continue emitting so-called “carbon pollution.”

5️⃣ The only solutions they offer involve increased governmental power. Higher taxes. EV mandates. Restrictions or bans on the energy sectors they don’t like.

And, as an added bonus, no real-world data proves, much less suggests that we are facing an “existential crisis.” Even the IPCC doesn’t use such rhetoric because it isn’t based on science.
