I barely tweet, but I'm following a ton of cool people here. Glad to see that many of them have already moved. If Twitter goes down, you can find me here: @[email protected]
Hope to see you there!
Several key people have already left and it's likely our startup won't survive. If you need a generalist software engineer with experience in C# (Unity, ASP NET Core), C++ (IoT, OpenGL, Vulkan, Other Random Stuff), Python (Django), Java (Android) please contact me.
Spent the last year+ working for a VR startup. We were making VR training software for passenger aircraft ground handling. Our CEO told us that, thanks to COVID-19, our customers can't pay, our projects are on hold and that we must all take an unpaid vacation until AT LEAST May.
Do you know about Article 13? It's a proposed EU copyright rule that forces platforms to police all uploads just to be safe. You can help stop this from becoming reality. Find out how at https://t.co/Ta17UuBzw4
I'm still looking for a job and tweeting this again. My interests and experience:
• OpenGL and Vulkan dev using C++
• Android app dev using Java (recently started learning Flutter)
• Some Django dev.
• Some 3D modelling knowledge.
I'm from Lithuania and unable to relocate.
I'm mostly interested in graphics/VR/gamedev jobs, with app development a close second. However, I'm open to other suggestions.

C++ PSA. Turns out, multiplying an integral std::duration by a float fraction (e.g. 0.8f) yields zero and (at least GCC) doesn't produce a warning despite having -Wall -Wextra -pedantic set. You need to enable -Wconversion as well to see it.
Sigh. What a waste of time.
Naturally, I had to sit though an hour of updates just to get to that point.
Moreover, Windows 10 re-enabled fast boot, which prevented me from booting into Ubuntu. Again.
Why does Windows 10 reset some settings after each bigger update?
Booted Windows for first time in months because I wanted to see if my thread pool and profiler compile with MSVC.
The profiler does (after some minor pain with macros).
Thread pool does not. I ran into a known MSVC bug: https://t.co/XiNw7BNR3P
After a ton of poking around, I'm now finally sure that if want to work in gamedev, I'll have to leave Lithuania, which I can't do for the time being.
Maybe I should just bite the bullet and look for something that would pay the bills.
There we go. My header only C++17 thread pool + thread profiler library is now live on GitHub: https://t.co/V8W5KwgMSV
I'd be grateful for any suggestions or constructive criticism.
I just need to fix a couple more warnings, make sure the documentation is complete and write an example.
I really hope that thing will be useful to more people than just me.
Over these past few days, I've been intermixing job hunting with coding.
Originally, I wanted to make a thread pool + a simple profiler for my engine. However, I realized a thing like that may be useful for other projects as well, which is why I'll put it on GitHub later today.
After a lot of changes in the asset pipeline of my @VulkanAPI based hobby engine, it finally starts again. 🎉YAY🎉
I didn't have the massive gaping hole in the skybox before, though.
Oh well, since I DON'T HAVE A JOB (wink wink nudge nudge), I have a ton of free time to fix it.
