Sonic VTuber MiiaTzu announced that she had been accepted into SEGA’s North American Creator Program, but said she was removed just hours later after backlash from members of the LGBT community

MiiaTzu shared screenshots of an email from SEGA saying she had been removed after an additional review. According to the email, SEGA decided that her participation no longer met the program’s eligibility requirements, community safety standards, and brand guidelines.

MiiaTzu said she believes the decision came after backlash over jokes with old clips and messages that resurfaced online.

Supporters of MiiaTzu say she became the target of a harassment campaign because of her views on transgender issues and other social topics.
