🔬 Marta Matamala-Pagès explores the role of climate in hominid evolution. This study reveals that the Ethiopian Highlands remained a stable climatic refuge for at least 2 Ma, potentially influencing the emergence, distribution, and adaptations of Homo erectus populations.
🌍 Sofía studies the impacts of deep-time climatic changes on species diversity. Her research highlights the potential of the record to reveal latitudinal gradients and the role of future paleontologists in uncovering the Latitudinal Biodiversity Gradient in current mammals.
Yesterday, we celebrated #11F, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, at CEIP Humberto Juanes and CEIP García Barbón. #11FUVigo@11defebreroES
