my best friend was 17 weeks pregnant when her water broke. she went to the hospital scared and in pain, but they told her because the fetus still had a heartbeat, they couldn’t help her terminate the pregnancy. sent home, she started running a fever, shaking, and feeling weak. a couple days later she collapsed and was rushed back. they induced her and she spent days in the icu fighting for her life. she survived, but the infection left scar tissue in her uterus and permanently blocked one fallopian tube, affecting her chances of getting pregnant again. all because she wasn’t allowed timely care.

Medical misogyny is so real. Yesterday my sister noticed her period pain was more intense than usual. So we went to the hospital. In the emergency room, there was a man with slight abdominal pain who was given Percoset and immediately sent his test to the laboratory, and when the doctor came to check on my sister, he said, “It’s just your normal period pain & symptoms” then gave her Ibuprofen and sent us home…. Today her symptoms got worse, and we went again, and guess what, it was an ovarian cyst!...they conducted an ultrasound on my request! .....a man with abdominal pain is more serious to them apparently and A woman’s pain is normalized like women are supposed to suffer!

Beatriz abrió una carpintería y contrató a Mario y Juan.

El lunes les dio madera para construir dos sillas a las 9am. Mario terminó la suya a la 1pm y se fue a casa. Juan no acabó hasta las 7pm.

El martes les dio madera para tres sillas. Mario, ya con práctica, hizo dos y se fue a casa a las 3pm. Juan otra vez se quedó hasta las 7pm.

El miércoles les dio otra vez madera para tres sillas y le dijo a Mario que si terminaba antes le ayudara a Juan. A la 1pm Mario ya había completado 2, Juan iba a la mitad de una, Mario le relevó, acabó a las 2pm y se fue a casa. Juan se quedó sentado hasta las 5pm y entonces se marchó.

El jueves Beatriz le dijo a Mario que no le gustaba que no hiciera la jornada completa y se lo descontaría de su pago. A Juan le agradeció su compromiso con la compañía.

El viernes Mario no volvió a trabajar. Juan llevó a un amigo suyo y dedicó el día a enseñarle a construir sillas. Entre los dos terminaron una a las 6pm.

Beatriz está contenta porque ahora tiene dos empleados comprometidos. Beatriz cree que es una gran empresaria.
