During the State of Play, no game announced a release date in November.

The video game industry is trembling at the arrival of GTA 6, and for good reason. GTA is likely to steamroll everything in its path, and the release of GTA Online 2, expected to come one or two months after the single-player launch, could be just as devastating for the competition.

Trailer 3 will drop when player morale is at its lowest, at the most unexpected moment. Rockstar will release a trailer that settles the debate once and for all.

Late July feels like the right window to me. The game will be in its near-final state, with only bugs left to fix. That’s when Rockstar will show us gameplay in its definitive form.

What’s the innovative feature you think Rockstar will drop in GTA 6?

I’m betting on two things.

1. A dynamic in-game social network where you find missions, track events and see a live heatmap (Snapchat-style) showing where the action is popping off in Vice City right now.

2. A world that actually REMEMBERS your actions. Stores you robbed stay closed, neighborhoods react to your reputation, NPCs recognize your face days later. Persistent consequences at a scale we’ve never seen.
