The police abducted Nzioka Muli, when Kenyans made noise, one of the officers who had possession of his phone and social media accounts made a misleading post claiming Muli had been released.
They did this to quell public anger.
Nzioka was not actually released. He has been in police custody since then, detained at one of their torture chambers.
We are getting preliminary information that he has been tortured and in a very bad state.
The Kenyan police must endeavor to be truthful. Such actions of misleading the public about the whereabouts of someone they abducted is a violation of human rights and basic human decency.
We hope that they are giving him the necessary medical assistance and attention to save his life.
President Ruto must reign in on these rouge offices, who abduct and kill at will.
