At 28 years old, a young man decided to walk 25 miles in a single day. Not for exercise. He was walking the length of his district, stopping along the way to talk to people and hear what was happening in their lives.
By the time he was halfway through, something was very wrong. He was exhausted, nauseated and vomiting. But he kept walking.
He finished the 25 miles and went home. Then he slept for 36 hours. His parents, alarmed by this, took him to the emergency room where they found out his blood sugar was 900.
The young man had undiagnosed Type 1 diabetes and was in diabetic ketoacidosis, a life-threatening condition that can lead to coma and death without treatment. He was then rushed to the ICU.
But thankfully, that young man survived, and story doesn’t end there.
Once he was able to leave the hospital, he needed regular insulin to stay alive. His first 30-day supply cost $684. Young men his age don’t carry that kind of money. So he put it on a credit card.
And that experience changed the direction of James Talarico’s young life.
Since then, James has been fighting for people who need insulin and other lifesaving medications in order to live, and pushing for legislation to make those drugs more affordable.
Working for the people, not Big Pharma. James Talarico is who Texas needs.
You know what would feel even better than getting revenge against Donald Trump?
Making sure no one can ever weaponize the presidency like this again.

Epstein victim's family speaks out against Colorado Republican Jeff Crank:
"My sister Virginia was one of Jeffrey Epstein's victims... After she died, we promised to carry on her fight, but our own Congressman Jeff Crank refused to meet with us. Then when he had the chance to explain the truth and released the Epstein files, he repeatedly voted to cover them up. Virginia deserved better. Jeff Crank covered up Epstein's crimes to protect Donald Trump. He has no business being in Congress."
This should outrage every American. This is the president of the United States telling Iran to bomb American cities. I live in Los Angeles, but that’s beside the point. Tommorow it could be your city.
My fellow Americans, this is not normal. This is not funny. This behavior should ring alarm bells for us all!
Two years ago the reflecting pool was reflecting, the East Wing existed and was welcoming visitors to the People’s House, and the Kennedy Center was financially stable and artistically thriving. Gasoline was semi-affordable and USAID was saving human lives all over the world.
Go vote. We don’t have to live like this.
Before calling someone a “dirtbag,” the Senator should have had his facts straight. An apology is in order.
Glad one of us knew the difference between the Atlanta Hawks and the Iowa Hawkeyes!
