@RetirementTales I made clock templates for the little darlings, with a notch at every number. It was a marvellous exercise for the children to draw around them and fill in the numbers. Peace and quiet.
@Joannechocolat My friend is having similar problems with her husband who is in poor health and has dementia. She has carers three times a week a week to shower him but otherwise has to cope. She’s also in poor health herself. It’s so difficult when he decided to be uncooperative.
@johnlewishelp I had a security check immediately which asked me to respond if I hadn’t paid the money. I did not respond as I HAD paid it. So why was my order still cancelled @JohnLewisRetail
Really disappointed in @JohnLewisRetail. Ordered a bed yesterday for delivery today. Dismantled old bed. Today told delivery cancelled because payment card was different from delivery address. /
/They’d checked with me and I’d confirmed sale. But order still cancelled. We reordered. No delivery until next Monday. I’m sleeping in the floor til then. Thank you John Lewis. I’m nearly 80.
@samuelcwhart Thank you for this. I’ve been alone for many years but I have a wonderful supportive family and friends- some of whom are also alone. This list resonates with me - I agree absolutely. Sitting in a cafe on my own right now. Going into nature after this.
@missradders I moved on from teaching in 1987 and from headship in 1996, and I still have letters my Infant age children painstakingly wrote me. They come from the heart, and mean so much. Bottles of wine, etc. though welcome, are transient!
