Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’s Betty Idol Arrested in Connection With $198K Real Estate Scam

Reality TV personality Salomé “Betty Idol” Jackson, known from Love & Hip Hop and Cartel Crew, has reportedly been arrested following an 11-month investigation into an alleged real estate fraud scheme in Volusia County, Florida.

According to investigators, victims wired approximately $198,000 to purchase vacant land in Orange City after suspects allegedly posed as the property's legitimate owners.

Detectives say fake identification was provided to a real estate office, and the money was ultimately sent to a fraudulent business account.

Investigators say the funds were then moved through multiple businesses and bank accounts across Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. Authorities reportedly obtained warrants for about 14 accounts while tracing purchases, debit-card activity and large cash withdrawals.

Detectives say they were able to connect approximately $179,000 of the allegedly stolen money to Jackson using bank records, receipts, flight records, surveillance footage and ATM footage.

The investigation reportedly lasted 11 months before culminating in Jackson's arrest.

The charges are money laundering over $100,000, organized scheme to defraud over $50,000, grand theft over $100,000, and principal to fraudulent use of personal identification information over $50,000. All four charges are listed as pending trial.

The Broward booking information also shows a Volusia County hold and a Nebbia hold dated August 11, 2026.
