🚨BREAKING: Apple’s next AirPods will have cameras built into them.
Not for photography. The cameras are designed to feed visual information directly to Siri, turning your earbuds into an eyes-on AI assistant that understands what is in front of you.
Point them at your fridge and ask what to cook. Walk into a room and ask what you are looking at. Siri sees what you see.
A privacy LED will light up whenever visual data is being transmitted, so there is always a visible signal when the cameras are active.
Enhanced Siri arrives in September. Production on the camera AirPods is already underway.

The top television program on broadcast networks last week (May 4-10) was "ABC World News Tonight" with 8.183 million viewers, per Nielsen.
"Tracker" on CBS was the second most-watched program.
Only one NBA playoff game on NBC made the top 5 (Spurs @ T'wolves on Sunday).
Before a screening of White Oleander in 2002, I opened a bag of vending machine animal crackers and dug in. Rex Reed turned around, shot me a heated look and sneered, “Are you going to be doing that the whole movie?!” Proud to get a negative review from the great! RIP
Rex Reed, a critic and journalist known for his brash takes on films, died Tuesday at his Manhattan home. He was 87.
Reed’s reviews were featured in publications like The New York Times, GQ, Esquire, and Vogue. He penned a column in the New York Observer over the last four decades.

@joerussotweets@Nate_Sinclair Wrong — the movie has a lot of problems beyond some phantom third act. Plenty of critics have rightfully pointed this out in their reviews.
We’ve legit lost the plot. I honestly have zero idea what people are looking for these days but there needs to be a major shift in criticism. The movie I saw was well written, well directed, beautifully shot, insanely well performed and the sound was amazing. Are we “film” critics or not. We’re supposed to help paint the picture of what an audience can anticipate and this score is not even close to that picture, objectively.

One of my first memories of being alive is seeing “Airplane” and sobbing uncontrollably because I thought it was all real and the plane would crash. I had to be taken out of the theater. I still have a little PTSD watching it. Glad all those passengers were OK!!!
OTD in 1980: Trans American Flight 209, a B-707, lands safely in Chicago (US) after crew was incapacitated by food poisoning. An ex-fighter pilot traveling as a passenger, along with a flight attendant, took control, supported by an ATC specialist and a former USAF captain.
