Во время Парагвайской войны 1864-1870 гг президент Парагвая Франциско Лопес призвал в армию всех мужчин в стране.

Мужчин забирали с улиц, отправляя необученными воевать.А чтобы столь слабо мотивированное войско не оставляло позиций, за трусость одного казнили каждого десятого в его подразделении.
В итоге, когда кончились мужчины, Лопес приказал отправить воевать детей. А чтобы враг не понял,что перед ними дети,велел приклеивать им бороды.
При этом война была полностью спровоцирована парагвайским диктатором и велась против союза трёх крупнейших держав Южной Америки-Бразилии, Аргентины и Уругвая.
Войну Лопес проиграл с катастрофическими результатами для страны, уничтожив все мужское население в собственной стране.
В живых осталось не более 10% - младенцы,маленькие дети,калеки и немощные старики.
Потеряв 40% территории, всю экономику и промышленность.
Сам Лопес мнил себя великим полководцем,не уступающим в способностях Наполеону...

I have also been watching Professor Paul Kengor's The Dark Side of Marxism from @petersonacademy.  

It does not feature the Marx portrayed by the woke university socialist acolytes (to put it mildly).

I interviewed @DrPaulKengor a year ago or so ago on my podcast. He's a truly engaging, creative and witty storyteller and lecturer.

It turns out that Old Karl was quite the satanic soul.

He was a parasite economically all his life, extorting continual support from his long-suffering relatives.

He wrote (and admired) purposefully demonic poetry and drama.

Most disturbing, however, was his choice of favorite quote. From Goethe's Faust, it's a line I have quoted many times, in consequence of its sheer existential horror.

It's Mephistopheles presenting his identity and central credo:

“I am the Spirit that endlessly denies!
And rightly, too; for all that comes to birth
Is fit for overthrow, as nothing worth;
Wherefore the world were better sterilized;
Thus all that's here as Evil recognized
