Vegan all my adult life, I run marathons to prove it's not prohibitive to performance - I hold 4 world records! I also run @towerhillstable animal sanctuary
This is your bacon, your burger, your sausage - this is the price they pay every single day they exist in torment & pain. And whilst you sit and consume products made from their beautiful, innocent and tortured bodies you complain you are bored? Think about it and wake up!
Do you feel bored at home already? Imagine what is like a life of imprisonment and aggressive abuse 80% +of these animals live this! 😔💔They also go insane because they are sentient, just like a human would 🐽💚
Put yourself in their place! Choose plant based #CoronaLockdown

A mile into my run today and I began to doubt the wisdom of going ‘full Elf’ as those bells sure are loud. However, seeing the smiles and cheer it raised in the faces of people all ages the ringing in my ears after my 13 mile dash is well worth it! Happy Xmas everyone!!
@AlexCarter001 Sounds like you are going great. I am just plodding along doing what I can, when I can. 20km steady today on a very windy sea wall. Speed work tomorrow and then hills Friday. If races do commence, trying to be ready for whatever is available - road or Desert I will take it!
Conundrum - How to train for races ranging from 10km road to 255km Desert? Answer = I don’t know! tried 2 hour treadmill. hour 1 @ 10.5kmph with 2% gradient, 9kg backpack + hand weights straight into hour 2 @ sub 3 Marathon pace + 1% gradient. No surprises which I preferred!
first lockdown run, opted for road as the trails and sea wall will be packed with people enjoying the sun. Shocked my legs felt so well after my 50 miler on Sunday. 15 mins warm up, 10 km in 39 mins, 15 mins warm down and look who was waiting for me when I arrived home - blessed
Gentle run on the sea wall today after my 50 miler yesterday. Mind you, it was so windy I had to keep looking up to see if the scenery was changing and I was actually moving forward.
Completed my 50 mile adventure as the sun came up this morning. Tired, but a stark reminder of how lucky I am to be out in nature - free and fit. Always remember ‘health is wealth’ and embrace and enjoy the challenges of life!
Tonight I shall attempt to run 50 miles to celebrate World Vegan Day. I will - hopefully - see the sun come up over the Estuary and be blessed with another day on this earth to care for my beloved family. What will you do?
@TomBurridgebbc @simbrowning Any thoughts on Morocco and running MdS in a mask. I’m due back there again in September but worried about feasibility - awful hot in the Sahara with an extra facial layer!
‘Keep smiling’ is my motto right now. Despite the Great North Run being cancelled I am feeling blessed that after my 20 mile effort yesterday I am recovered and ready for today. Races are on hold but running continues and the fact I have my health is ‘wealth’ enough for me!
Thought my sub 3 Marathon days were behind me but after today’s, sun drenched 20 mile road run @ 7 min 6 second mile pace I’m starting to think ‘never say never again!’ Not really trained seriously for a road race in, quite literally, years but perhaps now is the time to start!
