The Principal Secretary for Trade, Regina Ombam, hosted Mark Mwaniki,Director of Sales at Verto Company, a cross-border payments firm, for a consultative engagement aimed at strengthening collaboration between the State Department for Trade and the business community.

The discussions focused on enhancing traders’ understanding of trade agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed by the government to facilitate market access and unlock new trade opportunities.

The PS called on the company to collaborate with the State Department on various initiatives including the upcoming Tripartite Free Trade Area Summit as part of efforts to deepen private sector participation and understanding of regional trade processes.

The meeting reaffirmed commitment to strengthening capacity-building programmes, improving communication channels and equipping traders with timely and relevant information to enhance Kenya’s export growth and competitiveness in regional and international markets.
