Eighty-two years ago today, the fate of the free world turned on the courage of ordinary men asked to do the extraordinary.
On June 6, 1944, more than 156,000 Allied soldiers crossed the English Channel and stormed the beaches of Normandy — many knowing they might never return.
They came not for glory, but for something far greater: the liberation of a continent crushed under tyranny. D-Day was not simply a military operation — it was the moment the tide of history changed, purchased at an almost incomprehensible cost in blood and sacrifice.
As we mark the 82nd anniversary, we don’t simply remember a battle. We remember the men behind it — their fear, their faith, and their extraordinary willingness to give everything so that others could live free. That debt does not expire with time. It only deepens.

.@FinanceCanada Minister misled Canadians on size of near-record 2025 deficit, according to new Budget Office figures. @FPChampagne predicted $65.4 billion deficit. True figure was $71.8 billion, said @PBO_DPB.

@sarobertson_ He should never push his side. He’s convincing the audience that there isn’t a recession even though it’s the definition of one. He’s pushing the Liberal narrative. He should have been fired a long time ago but we all know he’ll end up with a senate seat or run as Liberal MP
Liberal insiders are now openly warning about PM Mark Carney’s 'authoritarian streak'
One year in, he calls his MPs his personal 'deputies', treats Parliament like a corporate boardroom, engineers floor-crossings to manufacture majorities, stacks committees, and centralizes power behind closed doors'
There’s an authoritarian tinge to it,' one senior Liberal told the Toronto Star
He lectures the world on defending democracy... while eroding it at home. Mark Zedong @althiaraj
According to Liberal MPs speaking anonymously, @MarkJCarney has adopted a strict top-down management style. One MP stated that the Prime Minister "yells" and "punches down at caucus all the time," reportedly telling members, "If you don't agree with our agenda, I don't want to hear it". (2/5)
@talk2oleary@PierrePoilievre Why are you attacking the opposition leader? How bout attacking the sitting PM that has done absolutely nothing since taking office? Or a PM that continues to lie and flip flop on multiple issues? Or a party that has statistically killed our country in so many ways?
Cheerleading for the government’s decision to reverse the CRTC online streaming decision from the former Heritage Minister who created the mess in the first place while promising that the bill would generate a billion dollars per year by 2023.

I’m in QP.
The PM answered a few questions. Now he smugly sits, silently, as he’s asked questions about whether we’re in a recession or a “technical recession”?
He won’t rise to answer. He just lets his ministers stumble.
Leaders answer. Why won’t the Prime Minister answer?
@FoodProfessor Mexico has been smart, they took the “high road” and acted like mature adults. We were petty and the Liberals selfishly did this for their own popularity and gain!
Blaming the previous government for weak economic growth would be more compelling if Mr. Carney wasn't also the Chair of the Liberals' Task Force on Economic Growth under the previous government. #cdnpoli
UNBELIEVABLE!!! Govt documents released:
Mark Carney's government hasn’t turned a shovel or laid an inch of track for the high-speed rail project, yet they are paying out millions in executive bonuses!
100% of officials at Alto got big bonuses. For what? Meetings and photo-ops?
@nanrob3942@brianlilley Why defend stupidity? Why are u defending this government? Nothing is better since they’ve taken office. Our country is hurting because of the Liberals government. It’s ok to hate the Conservatives but don’t defend shitty policies + shitty government. UR then just part of a cult
